I would like to welcome you with our traditional shermen greeting BISTRO! 3 4 5 DESCRIPTIONS OF COMPETITION VENUES The upcoming 35th World Fly Fishing Championship will be held on four rivers and one lake. The competition venues cover a length of 6000 meters, and competitors start places are long about 180 meters with an interspace of 10 meters from the left and from the right sides of the competitors. It is allowed to sh all kinds of sh represented with the minimum lenght of 20 centimeters. The competition is organized in full compliance with the rules and propositions of FIPS MOUCHE FEDERATION. It is alowed to use all shing techniques with the hook without counter-hooks, aggravation larger than allowed hid in ies – nymphs, and caught sh are drawn with the landing net (meredov). Selected practice venues are on the Pliva Lakes, the Pliva River and the Vrbas River. Substitute practice venue (I training) is on the Sana River in the city of Kjuč. We expect a good weather conditions during the competition, temperature ranging from 17 to 22 Celsius degrees and favorable water level of rivers. 1. Competition venue- Pliva River Sector I „A“ ŠIPOVO This competition venue is located on the Pliva River in Šipovo about 30 kilometers away from the city of jajce. The river is quite fast in the upper course and in some places the depths ranges is from 2-3 meters. In this part, it is best to use the nymph for shing , while the river is a little wider and slower in the lower part. This river is inhabitated with all kinds of salmonid sh, but the competition venue is dominated by grayling(Thymallus – thimallus Linnaeus) . 6 2. Competition venue - Sana River Sector II “B” RIBNIK This competition venue is located on the Sana River at the place called Ribnik, downstream from the mouth of the Ribnik River to the town of Ključ. The width of the river is 25-30 meters, and the length is about 1-2 kilometers. The river is inhabited with grayling(Thymallus- thimallus Linnaeus) , brown trout (Salmo trutta m. fario Linnaeus), salmon (Hucho-hucho Linnaeus) , and cyprinidal sh species, of which the most dominant is chub(Leuciscus cephahus) and barbel (Barbus Barbus Linnaeus) , and has a very small quantity of the rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum) . The 16th European Fly Fishing Championship took place on this competition venue. 3. Competition venue – Sanica River Sector III „C“ KLJUČ 7 It is the same as the previous competition venue (Sana River), the 16th European Fly Fishing Championship also took place on this competition venue. This competition venue is the farthest from the city of Jajce (85 kilometers). The width of the Sanica River is 25-30 meters with an average depth of 1 meter. The Sanica River is very rich in grayling(Thymallus-Thimallus Linnaeus) , brown trout (Salmo trutta m. Fario Linnaeus)and salmon (Hucho-hucho Linnaeus) , chub in the lower part of the sector (Leuciscus cephahus)and pike (Esox Lucius) . The dominant species for the most parts of this sector is grayling. 4. Competition venue – the Pliva Lakes Sector IV “D” JAJCE This competiton venue is located an a beautiful and natural Pliva Lakes, 7 kilometers away from the city of Jajce. The Pliva Lakes are about 3500 meters long, and the competition venue begins from the mouth of the Pliva River where it ows into the Pliva Lakes. The width of the lakes on the competition venue is 300-400 meters and the depth of lake is up to 30 meters in some places, while the depth is 6-8 meters in the shing sector. This lake is inhabitated with the following species of sh: brown trout (Salmo trutta m. Fario Linnaeus), grayling (Onorhynchus Mykiss Walbaum) and lake trout (Salmo Trutta m.lacustris Linnaeus), and cyprinid species carp (Ciprinus carpio) , pike (Esox Lucius ) and tench (Tinca Tinca) . The competitors on this competition venue strictly sh from a boat moving along a marked sector. The best results at the 16th European Fly Fishing Championship were achived with a streamer (strimer) in three versions on a one rod (imitation maggots, the leeches and litle sh). 8 5. Competition venue - Vrbas River Sector V „E“ Donji Vakuf This competition venue is located on the Vrbas River, downstream of the city of Donji Vakuf, about 40 kilometers away from the city of Jajce. The lenght of the competition venue is about 6 kilometers, width 25-30 meters, with an average depth of 1-2 meters or 3 meters in some places. The most common species along entire sector is grayling(Thymallus thymallus Linnaeus) . The best way to catch grayling is to use a nymph and dry y. The Vrbas River is also rich in brown trout (Salmo trutta m.fario Linnaeus), salmon (Hucho-hucho Linnaeus) and cyprinid, while the most dominant species is chub(Leuciscus cephahus) . 9 Substitute venue –Sana River – Ključ A substitute venue is located on the Sana River downstream from the city of Ključ, about 65 kilometers away from the city of Jajce. Characteristics of this venue are almoust same as the characteristics of competition venue from Sector II B (because it is located on the same river). This competition venue was also a substitute venue for 10th European Championship which was held in 2010. Training venues 1. 1st training venue on the Pliva River is located 300 meters downstream from the starting number „A“ – 30, Sector I „A“ Šipovo. In this part, the Pliva River is wider, and an average depth is 3 meters. It is best to sh using nymphs and dry ies. 2. 2nd training venue is located near to the venue in Sector 4 „D“ – the Pliva Lakes –Jajce and has all the characteristics of the competition venue. 3. 3rd training venue is on the Vrbas River downstream from the venue of the Sector 5 „E“ – Donji Vakuf. The characteristics of this venue are the same as those of the 2nd training venue. 10 OFFICIAL ACCOMMODATION FOR TEAMS The Turist Hotel 98 is located in the charming medieval city of Jajce widely known by its rich history and historical heritage.

Particular attention was also given to collect data and information for specific purposes concerning the development of the Danube Water Quality Model, the identification and evaluation of hot spots, the analysis of social and economic factors, the preparation of an investment portfolio and the development of financing mechanisms for the implementation of the ICPDR Action Plan. For the elaboration of the National Reviews, a team of national experts was recruited in each of the participating countries for a period of one to four months covering the following positions: Socio-economist with knowledge in population studies, Financial expert (preferably from the Ministry of Finance), Water Quality Data expert/information specialist, Water Engineering expert with knowledge in project development. Each of the experts had to organize his or her work under the supervision of the respective Country Programme Coordinator and with the guidance of a team of International Consultants. The tasks were laid out in specific Terms of Reference. At a Regional Workshop in Budapest from 27 to 29 January 1998, the national teams and the group of international consultants discussed in detail the methodological approach and the content of the National Reviews to assure coherence of results.

The activities were discussed under the Article 9 of the official Agenda. The separate LIF account nominated for the Help Fund for Stud Farm Vučijak reported at that time the total amount of 3.149,52 eur. COORDINATION AND COMUNICATION WITH THE MANAGEMENT OF THE STUD FARM VUČIJAK Communication and coordination with the management of Stud Farm Vučijak started in December 2016 with the current director, Mr. Ranko Grubešić and with mr. Saša Dragičević form the Ministry of agriculture. Due to changes in the management in stud Farm, during 2017 the whole process of coordination started again with the new director – mr. Milan Milanković. As a first step LIF requested form the responsible Ministry of agriculture, forestry and water management verification that Stud Farm Vučijak is authorized organization in Bosnia, which was delivered to LIF on 17th Jan 2017 (Reg. nr.: 12.03.2-330-112/17, on 17th Jan 2017). This region is a unique area in Bosnia and Herzegovina in many aspects. The area of Pliva lakes has been a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2007. The Commission for national monuments proclaimed this area as a National Monument under the name of "Cultural landscape – the Pliva lakes with the complex of mills on the Pliva near Jajce". According to the regional plan of the Central Bosnia Canton and Jajce municipality, the Pliva lakes should represent a protected area that is a clearly defined entity by natural factors, which is the backbone of the river Pliva. The protected area should cover the entire course of the river Pliva, which is located in the administrative units of municipalities Jajce, Jezero and Šipovo. The same plans suggest that this area should be a protected area of the fifth category or a protected landscape of the sixth category according to the IUCN categorization. For more than a century, the area of the Pliva valley has contributed to the intensive economic development, primarily through the construction of the first hydroelectric power plant in the Balkans for the needs of "Elektrobosna" which was built in 1890, and then through the hydroelectric power plant "Jajce I" that uses most of the water from the Great Pliva lake.

The five-day conference was the first op- portunity for people working in protected areas of the western Balkans to meet, exchange ideas and network after more than 20 years. After six years of successful cooperation with the minis- tries responsible for nature protection in the region, WWF started the project “Dinaric Arc Parks” in early 2012, to create an association of nature and national parks in the territory of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Ko- sovo*, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. The special characteristic of the terrain in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the presence of the great number of water streams with the abundance of waterfalls which are adorning the country’s landscape. Their beauty consists of deep and steep canyons, effervescent whirlpools, docile meadows and lush forests which are reflected on the clear and calm surface of the river. Unpolluted water is certainly one of the most important natural resources of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We can rightfully say that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the country of rivers, due to the fact that around 262 rivers flow through it. The most significant rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina are Sava, Drina, Bosna, Vrbas, Neretva and Una. The specificity of rivers in Bosnia and Herzegovina is also contained in the fact that they compose its natural border – Sava and Una, the greatest part with Croatia on west, Drina with Serbia on the east.

The pilot project for the development of a Pragmatic Sava RBM Plan constitutes an activity (Component 1.1-9) within the DRP’s objective regarding the “Creation of sustainable ecological conditions for land use and water management”. The actual assignment is based on the outputs and outcomes of Phase 1 (April 2003 to February 2004) in which important data and information on water management and socio-economic issues of the WFD have been collected in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia & Montenegro. Phase 1 has provided a first overview in quality and quantity of data gaps on WFD implementation, strongly varying from country to country and depending on the innovative character of a specific WFD subject, compared with the level of water management and economic data bases in Sava countries in the past 15 years.
