About Grevillea Ensemble
Grevillea Ensemble was founded in 1999 by soprano Wendy Dixon (Guest Ar st ‐ Opera Australia) and pianist David Miller AM (Chair of Ensemble Studies, Sydney Conservatorium) with violinist Marina Marsden (then Assistant Concertmaster ‐ Sydney Symphony) who le the group at the end of the 2003 season.
Grevillea was formed by these accomplished ar sts to communicate and share their love of music with their audience. During recitals, the ar sts talk to the audience about the music they are playing in an informal, in mate atmosphere. At the end of each recital the audience has the opportunity to chat with the musicians over complimentary refreshments.
Now based at The Flute Tree, 1/111 Moore St., Leichhardt, Michael Halliwell ‐ Baritone Grevillea's subscrip on series recital programmes explore a wide range of familiar and new repertoire for voice and Michael Halliwell studied music and literature at piano. He took part in several world premieres and appeared frequently at major European fes vals in opera, oratorio and song recitals. He has sung over fi y major opera c roles, including Don Giovanni, Papageno, Count Almaviv, Gugliemo, Posa, Germont, Gianni Schicci, Ford and Escamillo.
