Pair pleads no contest in ‘07 Malibu fire case LOS ANGELES Two men have pleaded no con- test to felony charges for causing a 2007 wildfire in Malibu that destroyed 53 homes and dam- aged 23 others. Six firefighters were injured. Twenty-four-year-old Brian Alan Anderson and 25-year-old William Thomas Coppock entered their pleas Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court in Van Nuys. The men were charged with recklessly caus- ing a fire with great bodily injury and reckless- ly causing a fire to an inhabited structure.
