PAGE 3 CLUB PROJECTS FOOD BANK Hunger is the biggest enemy of mankind and Covid 19 made the situation worse, especially for daily wage RTN. RAJ SOMANI earners or those employed in small factories which closed due to pandemic.India Food Banking in association with Sodexo, provided our club 1000 ration kits. India Food Banking in association with Sodexo, provided our club 1000 ration kits. Each kit had 5kg Rice, 5kg Wheat flour, 2kg Dal, 1ltr cooking oil, 1kg Salt, 200gm turmeric powder. The value of these kits were Rs. 7,50,000/- approx. These kits were distributed to 1000 families in the remote villages of West Bengal and also in the city of Kolkata. KUCH MITHA HO JAYE…….. In Indian Tradition any celebration is incomplete without sweets and this time when people of West Bengal were celebrating Durga Puja with lots of restrictions due to pandemic and fear of COVID 19. India Food Banking Network coordinated with Cadbury and provided Rotary Calcutta Mahanagar a total of 1296 kgs of Bournvita and 450000 pcs of various Chocolates like Five Star, Fuse, Perk, Halls, Dairy Milk Bar, worth Rs.19.50 lakh. The Club, under leadership of PP Vikram Doogar and President Elect Ashok Agarwal, took initiative to reach thousands of people and covered the remote villages of Bengal which included Nasibpur, Nada, Balarambati, Mirzapur, Furfura Sharif, Bhagwatipur, Ramnathpur, Chanditolla, Kalachora, Nalikul, Apurbapur, Milky, Roypara in Singur Area, Deepi in Haripal area, Purbo Vardhman , Naihati, Sheoraphulli, Badiyabatti, along with many parts of Kolkata .The club also coordinated with twenty four Puja Committees and during the four days of celebration, all the children visiting the area were given chocolates which really made them very happy . Thanks to Cadbury, Mrs.Vandana Singh of India Food Banking and Sodexo for providing us these products. Another 1000 ration kits were distributed to the students of Arya Vidya Mandir, where for the last ten years, we have been providing breakfast to the students. Each kit having one kgs Poha, 500 gm dalia, 500 gms Sooji, 500 gms Sattu , 500 gms Roasted Channa , 500 gms Moori, One kgs. Khichadi Mix, one Kgs. sugar, one Kgs. Salt and 200 gms Soya chunk ) The Value of these kits was Rs. 450000/-.and the kits were sponsored by KFC .The project was well coordinated by Past President Vikam Doogar and Chairman Ashok Agarwal . Our thanks to Mrs. Vandana singh of India Food Banking , Sodexo and KFC for this gesture END POLIO NOW E- LEARNING On the occasion of World Polio day Chairman Rtn. Raj E-learning Kits were handed over to three Schools RTN. RAJ SOMANI Somani promoted the WORLD POLIO DAY by affixing PP RAAKESH JAIN under Global Grant CHAIRPERSON CHAIRPERSON Banners at various locations in Suburban Kolkata. B) Salgeria Schduled Academy C) Baramara Junior High School A big thank you to all contributors of Rotary Foundation because of which so many children have become beneficiaries with access to enhanced mode of education. PAGE 4 DO GAAJ KI DOORI, MASK HAIN ZAROORI HA Under this initiative, masks and soaps shall be distributed to the PPY BI RTN. ASHOK SINGHVI RTHDAY CHAIRPERSON needy in the areas of Kolkata. The masks initially has been sponsored by Rtn. Ashok Singhvi and Mahanagar invites all of you to come forward and participate in the need of the hour to distribute the safety tools to prevent the pandemic.
