Bushiroad Gears up for Cardfight!! Vanguard G Girs Crisis FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BUSHIROAD GEARS UP FOR CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD G GIRS CRISIS Singapore (September 17, 2015) – Bushiroad confirms that English dubbed episodes of Cardfight!! Vanguard G GIRS Crisis will be airing on YouTube on the Cardfight!! Vanguard Official YouTube Channel, and Singapore’s OKTO Channel from December 2015 onwards. This is the 6th season of Cardfight!! Vanguard, and the second in the Cardfight!! Vanguard G series. ©Project Vanguard G 2015/TV Tokyo Information on the new season was announced during the Tokyo Game Show in Tokyo, Japan on September 17, 2015. In Cardfight!! Vanguard G GIRS Crisis, the Federation of International Vanguard Associations (FIVA) issues a new “Generation Quest”, or “G Quest”. Fighters who complete this “G Quest” will stand a chance to become a Clan Leader, which is the new aim of series protagonist, Chrono Shindou and his team TRY3. “Legendary fighters” - characters from the previous seasons of Cardfight!! Vanguard, such as Leon Soryu, Naoki Ishida, Miwa Taishi, Ren Suzugamori and Toshiki Kai will make appearances during the “G Quest”. There are two new characters joining the cast – Luna Yumizuki and Am Chouno. They are part of the idol unit “Rummy Labyrinth”, the official image characters for “G Quest”, and are an important part of the story. Luna is revealed to be using the Pale Moon clan, and Am is using the Granblue clan. Cardfight!! Vanguard G is the latest series of Bushiroad’s most popular trading card game, Cardfight!! Vanguard. The Cardfight!! Vanguard G animation is currently being shown on YouTube, Crunchyroll, Singapore’s OKTO Channel, Malaysia’s ntv7 Channel, and Hong Kong & China’s TVB Jade Channel. Cardfight!! At the time of the 1997 reversion, there were concerns that Hong Kong, which has a laissez-faire market economy, would lose its economic vigor once the territory is put under the Chinese Communist Party’s one-party rule. But the Hong Kong economy has achieved generally steady growth while forming closer ties with the mainland. However, new concerns are rising that the “One Country, Two Systems” principle that guarantees Hong Kong a different social system from that of China is wavering and press freedom, which does not exist in the mainland and has been one of the attractions of Hong Kong, is shrinking. On the rankings of press freedom compiled by the international journalists’ group Reporters Without Borders, Hong Kong fell to 73rd place in 2017 from 18th in 2002.1 This article looks at how press freedom has been affected by a series of cases in the Hong Kong media that occurred during these two decades, in line with findings from the author’s weeklong field trip in mid-September 2017.

    Complaints dealt with by the Communications Authority (“CA”) (released on 28 February 2019) The CA considered the following case which had been deliberated by the Broadcast Complaints Committee (“BCC”) – Complaint Case Television Advertisement for “HKTV Mall Thankful Festival” (HKTV Mall感謝祭) broadcast by Television Broadcasts Limited (“TVB”) The CA also considered cases of dissatisfaction with the decisions of the Director-General of Communications (“DG Com”) on complaint cases. Having considered the recommendations of the BCC, the CA decided– 1. that the complaints against the television advertisement for “HKTV Mall Thankful Festival” (HKTV Mall感謝祭) were unsubstantiated and no further action should be taken against TVB; and 2. to uphold the decisions of the DG Com on two cases of dissatisfaction with the decisions of the DG Com. The list of the cases is available in the Appendix. 28 February 2019 Case – Television Advertisement for “HKTV Mall Thankful Festival” (HKTV Mall 感謝祭) broadcast at various time slots from 11 October to 4 November 2018 on Jade Channel and News Channel of Television Broadcasts Limited (“TVB”) The Communications Authority (“CA”) received 12 public complaints against the captioned advertisement. The substance of the complaints was that the portrayal of a woman jumping through a glass window was dangerous, of a bad theme and unsuitable for children, exerted a bad influence on children and would invite imitation, notwithstanding that the caption “觀眾切勿模仿” was superimposed on the screen. The CA’s Findings In line with the established practice, the CA considered the complaint case and the representations of TVB and the advertiser in detail.
