Riverside High School Project No. GSP1010.059 Roof Replacement SECTION 01 11 00 SUMMARY OF WORK PART 1 – GENERAL 1.1 Work Covered by Contract Documents 1.1.1 Work under this Contract consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to perform the quality remedial re-roofing at Riverside High School, as shown on Drawing Nos. A- 101.1 through A104.4. The construction period will be divided into two Phases and the work will include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: 1.1.2 Phase I 1.1.2.1 Roof Areas F, F1, N, O, P, Q, S, and T – (Concrete Decks) (a) Water test all roof drains prior to any work and report any blockages or other impediments to drainage to Owner and Designer, submit pre-work water test results to Designer for record. (b) Remove all existing coating and spray foam insulation down to the existing concrete decks, and discard. (c) Remove all existing membrane flashings, metal flashings, and miscellaneous items as specified herein, and discard. (d) Remove all existing coping caps and edge metal, and discard. (e) Remove all existing scuppers, conductors, and downspouts, and discard. (f) Remove all existing gutters and downspouts, and discard. (g) Remove all existing drain strainers, clamping rings and fasteners, and discard. (h) Remove all existing abandoned equipment curbs, sleepers, and related abandoned conduit penetrations, and discard. (i) Notify Designer and Owner prior to the removal of any abandoned equipment. (i) Remove existing unsound concrete and patch with new concrete (Unit Price # 1). (j) Remove and replace areas of deteriorated wood nailers (Unit Price # 2). (k) Remove and replace existing, damaged drains (Unit Price # 3). (l) Roof Area O: Remove existing solar heating system and related support structure and penetrations, and discard. (m) Clean existing concrete deck and provide pull tests to determine new vapor barrier adheres properly to the concrete substrate per the manufacturer’s requirements to achieve the specified uplift ratings. (n) Furnish and install new vapor barrier over the existing concrete deck, as specified herein. (o) Furnish and install new fully adhered 4” (2 layers) flat polyisocyanurate insulation boards to provide an R-20 (minimum), as specified herein. (p) Furnish and install new fully adhered tapered polyisocyanurate insulation system to provide an 1/4” per 1’ slope as indicated on the drawings and specified herein. (i) New tapered insulation systems shall be provided at Roof Areas F, F1, and O. (ii) New tapered insulation sumps and crickets shall be provided at all roof areas as indicated on the drawings. (q) Furnish and install new fully adhered ½” coverboard, as specified herein. (r) Furnish and install new cold applied two-ply modified bitumen membrane system, as specified herein. (s) Furnish and install new membrane flashings and metal flashings, as specified Summary of Work 01 11 00 1 Raymond Engineering-Georgia, Inc. Riverside High School Project No. GSP1010.059 Roof Replacement herein. (t) Apply new fibrated aluminum coatings to all base flashings and all parapet flashings, as specified herein. (u) Furnish and install new perimeter wood blocking as needed to match the height of the new insulation, as specified herein. (v) Furnish and install new coping caps and edge metal, as specified herein. (w) Furnish and install new scuppers, conductors, and downspouts, as specified herein. (x) Furnish and install new gutters and downspouts, as specified herein. (y) Furnish and install new drain strainers, clamping rings and fasteners, as specified herein. (z) Install new access ladder from Roof Area F to Roof Area F1 as indicated on Drawing Sheet A-102.2 and Detail 6/A-502. (aa) Scrape, prime, and paint all existing roof access hatches, as specified herein. (bb) Scrape, wire brush/sand, and paint existing gas lines, as specified herein. (cc) Furnish and install new pipe support stands and membrane protection pads at all existing gas lines, as specified herein. (dd) Furnish and install new walk-pads as indicated on the drawings and specified herein. (ee) Furnish and install new copper condensate lines and P-traps with new pipe support stands and membrane protection pads, as specified herein. (ff) Water test all roof drains prior to Final Acceptance and report any blockages or other impediments to drainage to Owner and Designer. Contractor to provide all work and testing required to ensure that drains operate equal to or better than pre-work water test results. Submit final water test results for record. 1.1.2.2 Roof Areas F2, O1 – O4, P1 – P3, S1 – S3, and T1 – T3 (Metal Decks) (a) Remove all existing coating, spray foam insulation, and gypsum board down to the existing metal decks, and discard. (b) Remove all existing membrane flashings, metal flashings, and miscellaneous items as specified herein, and discard. (c) Remove all existing edge metal, and discard. (d) Remove all existing gutters and downspouts, and discard. (e) Remove and replace areas of deteriorated wood nailers (Unit Price # 2). (f) Furnish and install new mechanically attached 4” (2 layers) flat polyisocyanurate insulation boards to provide an R-20 (minimum), as specified herein. (g) Furnish and install new mechanically attached ½” coverboard, as specified herein. (h) Furnish and install new fully adhered EPDM membrane roof system, as specified herein. (i) Furnish and install new membrane flashings and metal flashings, as specified herein. (j) Furnish and install new perimeter wood blocking as needed to match the height of the new insulation, as specified herein. (k) Furnish and install new coping caps and edge metal, as specified herein. (l) Furnish and install new gutters and downspout, as specified herein. 1.1.2.3 Roof Area R (Terrace – Concrete Deck) (a) Remove all existing concrete pavers, and store for re-use.
