Different types and scale of proposed developments will require different levels of information and supporting documentation to be submitted at the same time as the application itself. The submission of some of this information is already a mandatory requirement and this is set out in the, “National Requirements Checklist”. Failure to submit such information can result in the application being returned to the applicant undetermined as it is deemed to be invalid and they are incapable of being determined in its current form. It is also good practice for Councils to also prepare a, “Local Requirements Checklist” setting out additional information that the authority require to determine an application. This consultation process sets out a draft

3 list of such requirements and is based on current local planning policies contained within the Adopted Local Development Plan. The combined use of the national and local list will afford both authority and applicant more certainty of the type of information required at the outset and help to ensure that the information request is proportional to the type and scale of application being made. Local planning authorities are encouraged to consult on local requirement checklists prior to adopting them as Guidance Notes. The consultation documents are available to view via the Council’s website http://www.ceredigion.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=9980. Representation forms can be downloaded via the link http://www.ceredigion.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=9980.

Ceredigion County Council has prepared guidance documents to advise on the information required to be submitted as part of a planning application. Copies of all the documents are available for public inspection free of charge on the Council’s website at http://www.ceredigion.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=9980 from the 25 July 2013. The Planning Procedure Guidance note is subject to formal consultation from 25th July 2013 until Friday 20th September 2013.
