The college was established . in the year r993 , under the aegis of Bharatiya vidya tshavan, Mumbai . The college was accredited with grade A by NAAC in 2012 and became an Autonomous institution in the year 20r5. Th,e bar of academic performance is being raised year after year, This year our students have performed^ exceedingly well in comparison to privious ylars. The average iass percentage of UG courses is 93.61% in comparison to the previous year 88.70Yo. BBA is leading wittL 93.44%Jfollowed by B.com. with 97.72%o, BCA with 92.45%,8.A with gz.3ly:o, B.Sc.(physicai Sciences)with g9.79% and B.Sc.(Life Sciences) with 86.01%.

The average pass percentage for postgraduate courses is 99.1%o in comparison to previous year 97.76%. M.com, M.Sc.(computer Sc. & Microbiology) have achieved 100% result. M.b.A achieved 99.12Yo, and M.Sc.(B iochemistry) with 95.23yo.

STAFF ACHIEVEMENTS /RECOGNITIONS :

Our staff has always been in the forefront, in pursuit of academic excellence in the field of teaching, participation in sem inars/workshops/conferences, research activities, publications and acquiring advanced qualifications. The success of the college can be largely attributed to the commitment and hard work of the faculty members along with the unstinting support of the management. At present, we have a total of 124 faculty members with 39 doctorates and 22 M.Phils.

The College is selected for 'Star College Scheme' (DBT, New Delhi) by Department of Biotechnology, Govemment of India for financial support to strengthen the undergraduate science departments. Bhavan's Vivekananda College is one of the privileged institutions to have received a funding of Rs.l.23 crores as financial support. The objectives of this scheme are to enhance conceptual clarity, development of scientific thinking and creativity among the students. This scheme would enable the college to develop holistic approach and encourage interdisciplinary activities for undergraduate courses. "Sudha Gorthi Award lor Excellence in Teaching" for the year 2017-18 was awarded to Dr. J. Sarada, Asst. Prof. in Microbiology, BVC. Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), selected Bhavan's Vivekananda College, Sainikpuri, as Centre for conducting NGPE (National Graduate Physics Exam) on 2011/2019. The Department ofPhysics and Electronics coordinated with IAPT to conduct the examination. Mrs. B.Kalpana, Lecturer in Cenetics, has been awarded Ph. D in Genetics by Osmania University in February 2019. Dr.P.Nagapadma, Asst. Professor in Microbiology has guided a scholar for Ph.D program at JNTU Hyderabad Dr.Madhumita Bhattacharjee, Head, Department of Chemistry guided a scholar for Ph.D. programme at Pune University, Pune

Collese Activities :

The college conducted an intra college cultural and literary festival 'Yuvamahotsav' on 29thto 3l't January, 2018 to commemorate birth anniversary of Kulaptai Dr. K M Munshiji, Founder of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

Faculty Development Programme was organized at Ramakrishna Matt for the faculty members of BVC, BSAJC and BSRKV in two phases, I phase on I 9 and 20rh April, 2018, and II phase on 5th and 6th June 2018. Placement Training Programme was organized by Department of Computer Science for students of B.Sc. The Entrepreneur Development (ED) Cell of the college conducted a l5 day "Entrepreneur Foundation Programme" in association with National Small lndustries Corporation (NSIC) in September,2018. A total of 102 students attended the programme.

The ED cell organized a l5 day online training programme in association with National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Government of India. A total of99 students participated in the programme.

The ED Cell organised, a state level business plan competition called "Anthah Prerana" on 2810212019. A total of35 teams consisting of75 participants from various colleges participated. The chief guest for the programme was Mr. Varun AkInoor, Senior Vice President (Incubation) at WE Hub, Government of Telengana.

Ureka Education Group, U.K. has organized an Intemational Seminar on "lnnovation and Entrepreneurship in Smart Cities of lndia" - (IESC) 2018 in two cities - Hyderabad and Delhi. Our college was invited in which a total of 130 students participated.

Immanuel Business School conducted a Business Plan Competition, I{ycoon 2K19. Students from various colleges presented their business plan to an International Panel in which our MBA lst year students secured first prize.

l. Lt.Cdr. Sandeep Tomar, an alumnus (2006-2009 batch) visited the college and interacted with students to motivate them to join the armed forces. 2. Mr A Muhil pursuing M.Sc. The Career Guidance and Placement Cell (CGPC) has organized several programmes to ensure that the students are placed by reputed companies. The college showed a very impressive placement record during 2017-18. Additional Infrastructural facilities:

The following additional infrastructural facilities were created/upgraded during the academic year 2018-19: o The college constructed a new canteen of400 sqft. to meet the requirements ofthe increasing no. ofstudents lt's an eco- friendly canteen made entirely with timber. o The college started an additional section of BBA during the academic year 2018-19. To meet the infrastructural requirement ofthe course/department a third floor is under construction in the MBA block with provision of lift facility. o To commemorate the completion of25 years ofthe college, a grand function was organized to unveil the life size statue of Swami Vivekananda on 6s September, 2018. Swami Bodhamayanandaj i, Director, Vivekananda Institute ofHuman Excellence, was invited as Chief Guest to unveil the statue.
