The campaign to register on line for affidavits is growing & going on strong. It will continue to grow in the future. As of now we have a data set of 5362412 students & E mail/Phone Contact data of 3334635 parents. 4. Progress on self declaration of “Compliance of Regulations” by Colleges/Universities is poor. So far – no work has been done in this regard. 5. Exceptionally high numbers of complaints continue to be received from Medical Colleges across the country. 52 complaints were received in this quarter alone. 6. On awareness the Trust has two dedicated internet lease lines that send 150000 e-mails per day to students & parents to create awareness against Ragging. This is a very successful awareness model. We are directly targeting the students & their parents. 7. Our Social Media platforms are also very active. The Aman Movement facebook is active. Slowly students & parents are connecting to it. PROGRESS REPORT Objective 1: To monitor each complaint received by the Call Centre to its logical conclusion __________________________________________________________________ 1. It is true to say that more colleges are responding & now roughly 65% complaints are closed at the Monitoring Level. Details of those colleges, during this quarter, that have responded & cooperated with the Monitoring Agency & for whom cases were satisfactorily resolved are given in Annex – 2. The details of those colleges – whose cases had to be escalated to UGC , during this quarter, – are listed in Annex – 3 4. 35% of complaints that are escalated to the Regulatory Authorities are those complaints where (i) either the College Authorities have refused to cooperate with the Monitoring Agency or (ii) the complainant is not satisfied with the action that has been taken by the College Authorities. Colleges that do not respond or colleges who refuse to recognize the authority of the “Ragging Prevention Program” get away without being asked by UGC as to why they have chosen to reject the UGC regulations? It is unfair on those colleges that are law abiding & cooperative. ___________________________________________________________________________ 5 Support Aman Movement For Eradication of Ragging. 1800 180 55 22 [email protected] Table 5: Gender wise distribution of complaints Total up to Year Ending Dec-2017 Current Year 2018 Grand State Total Male Female Total Male Female Total Andaman & Nicobar 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Andhra Pradesh 92 41 133 19 4 23 156 Arunachal Pradesh 2 0 2 0 0 0 2 Assam 83 11 94 17 2 19 113 Bihar 222 27 249 38 2 40 289 Chandigarh 4 1 5 1 0 1 6 Chhattisgarh 47 9 56 12 4 16 72 Dadra & Nagar Haveli 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Daman & Diu 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Delhi 73 15 88 10 3 13 101 Goa 2 1 3 0 1 1 4 Gujarat 62 10 72 6 0 6 78 Haryana 78 11 89 10 5 15 104 Himachal Pradesh 25 3 28 6 2 8 36 Jammu & Kashmir 49 5 54 4 0 4 58 Jharkhand 130 9 139 22 3 25 164 Karnataka 173 26 199 20 6 26 225 Kerala 200 16 216 44 6 50 266 Lakshadweep 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Madhya Pradesh 462 37 499 79 6 85 584 Maharashtra 206 48 254 36 9 45 299 Manipur 6 2 8 1 1 2 10 Meghalaya 4 0 4 1 0 1 5 Mizoram 5 0 5 2 0 2 7 Nagaland 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Odisha 334 48 382 45 5 50 432 Puducherry 21 6 27 3 1 4 31 Punjab 88 22 110 7 4 11 121 Rajasthan 207 20 227 19 3 22 249 Sikkim 6 1 7 2 1 3 10 Tamil Nadu 220 32 252 30 5 35 287 Telangana 29 3 32 10 2 12 44 Tripura 22 3 25 4 0 4 29 Uttar Pradesh 765 70 835 124 16 140 975 Uttarakhand 81 18 99 17 1 18 117 West Bengal 478 83 561 84 11 95 656 Grand Total 4176 578 4754 673 103 776 5530 ___________________________________________________________________________ 6 Support Aman Movement For Eradication of Ragging.
