Lara Ibrahim Aachen, am 18 März 2015 Zusammenfassung Die Zulassung von Pflanzenschutzmitteln in der Europäischen Gemeinschaft verlangt unter anderem eine Abschätzung des Risikos für Organismen in der Umwelt, die nicht Ziel der Anwendung sind. Unvertretbare Auswirkungen auf den Naturhalt sollen vermieden werden. Die ökologische Risikoanalyse stellt die dafür benötigten Informationen durch eine Abschätzung der Exposition der Organismen und der sich daraus ergebenden Effekte bereit. Die Effektabschätzung beruht dabei hauptsächlich auf standardisierten ökotoxikologischen Tests im Labor mit wenigen, oft nicht einheimischen Stellvertreterarten. In diesen Tests werden z. B. Effekte auf das Überleben, das Wachstum und/oder die Reproduktion von Fischen bei verschiedenen Konzentrationen der Testsubstanz gemessen und Endpunkte wie die LC50 (Lethal Concentrations for 50%) oder eine NOEC (No Observed Effect Concentration, z. B. für Wachstum oder Reproduktionsparameter) abgeleitet. Für Fische und Wirbeltiere im Allgemeinen beziehen sich die spezifischen Schutzziele auf das Überleben von Individuen und die Abundanz und Biomasse von Populationen. -

(1991) sui pesci d’acqua dolce italiani, tuttora in uso dalla maggior parte degli ittiologi e con l’avvento, a partire soprattutto dagli anni novanta, delle moderne indagini biomolecolari, e delle ipotesi biogeografiche sulla origini degli endemismi peri-mediterranei, molti aspetti tassonomici riguardanti le specie europee sono cambiati. Una sintesi di tutte queste novità è riportata nel recente manuale dei pesci d’acqua dolce europei di Kottelat & Freyhof (2007), dove vengono elencate circa 108 specie per l’Italia di cui 51 autoctone, 43 introdotte e 14 di origini marine o occasionali. Per quanto riguarda le autoctone, tra le 51 riportate circa 15 hanno subito cambiamento di specie, ovvero, riconosciute come endemismi italiani piuttosto che specie d’oltralpe. La precedente confusione, purtroppo ha portato in Italia molti esotici congenerici molto competitivi ai danni degli autoctoni. Alcune novità tassonomiche proposte sono da rivedere come la riabilitazione della specie Squalius albus del Trasimeno, praticamente fatta a tavolino, ignorando che la fauna di questo lago deriva dal Tevere (terra tipica di Squalius squalus, ovvero la specie di cavedano data per endemica in Italia). Molti generi sono cambiati come ad esempio Chondrostoma ora scomposto in 6 generi. La riabilitazione e la descrizione di altri generi e specie devono essere riviste. -

604 Evolution & Ontology Symposium, Grand Ballroom I, Saturday 25 July 2009 Paula Mabee University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD, United States Phenoscape: Using Ontologies to Link Comparative Morphology to Genes Decades of comparative anatomical studies in ichthyology and herpetology have resulted in a rich body of ‘free-text’ data. As these data grow, they are increasingly hard to align and synthesize across taxonomic groups, and synthetic questions concerning the developmental and genetic basis of evolutionary changes in morphology cannot be easily or efficiently addressed. In order for this volume of comparative anatomical data to be analyzed in a developmental genetic context, it must first be rendered computable. One way to achieve this is to use ontologies. Using ostariophysan fishes as a prototype, the Phenoscape project has developed a system that includes ontologies representing expert knowledge of anatomy and taxonomy (the Teleost Anatomy Ontology and the Teleost Taxonomy Ontology), software for data curation (Phenex), and a knowledgebase that supports ontology-based reasoning about evolutionary phenotype data (PhenoscapeKB, http://phenoscape.org/kb). To date, over 5,000 characters from the phylogenetic literature have been annotated for 8,300 species, resulting in over eight million annotated phenotypes. PhenoscapeKB combines these evolutionary phenotypes with information about genetically characterized phenotype from ZFIN, the zebrafish community database. Abstract Absorbance spectra of rods and some cones were measured by microspectrophotometry in 22 fish species from the brackish-water of the Baltic Sea, and when applicable, in the same species from the Atlantic Ocean ~3 spp.!, the Mediterranean Sea ~1 sp.!, or Finnish fresh-water lakes ~9 spp.!. The main purpose was to study whether there were differences suggesting spectral adaptation of rod vision to different photic environments during the short history ~Ͻ104 years! of postglacial isolation of the Baltic Sea and the Finnish lakes. Rod absorbance spectra of the Baltic subspecies0populations of herring ~Clupea harengus membras!, flounder ~Platichthys flesus!, and sand goby ~Pomatoschistus minutus! were all long-wavelength-shifted ~9.8, 1.9, and 5.3 nm, respectively, at the wavelength of maximum absorbance, lmax! compared with their truly marine counterparts, consistent with adaptation for improved quantum catch, and improved signal-to-noise ratio of vision in the Baltic light environment. Judged by the shape of the spectra, the chromophore was pure A1 in all these cases; hence the differences indicate evolutionary tuning of the opsin. In no species of fresh-water origin did we find significant opsin-based spectral shifts specific to the Baltic populations, only spectral differences due to varying A10A2 chromophore ratio in some. -
