El condado de Nieva (siglos XV al XVI) Alfonso Franco Silva * A mediados del siglo XV el titular de uno de los más importantes linajes nobiliarios de Castilla, Pedro Fernández de Velasco, primer conde de Haro, otorgaba cuatro mayorazgos a favor de sus cuatro hijos varones: Pedro, Luis, Sancho y Fernando Los dominios territoriales que llegó a reunir el Buen conde de Haro eran tan inmensos que podía heredar suficientemente a los segundones sin menoscabar por ello el mayorazgo del primogénito. En este trabajo nues tro objetivo es estudiar el patrimonio que correspondió a uno de estos segundones, Sancho de Velasco. Para su tercer hijo varón, el conde de Haro creó un pequeño pero bien definido seño río cuyos dominios se situaban en tierras de La Rioja. La villa principal de este señorío era Arnedo. Sancho de Velasco y sus inmediatos sucesores se encargarían de engrandecer estos dominios iniciales entre los siglos XV y XVI mediante compras, trueques, y acertadas alianzas matrimoniales. Uno de estos enlaces depararía a esta rama colateral de los Velasco la suerte de ostentar el título de Condes de Nieva 2. A fines del siglo XVI, y por los llamamientos exigidos en el mayorazgo, el señorío de Arnedo fue nuevamente incorporado al tronco principal de los Velasco El mayorazgo que Sancho de Velasco recibió de su progenitor en 1458 se componía de los siguientes bienes la villa de Arnedo con su fortaleza y aldeas, los lugares de Nieva, Torre, Luezas, Arenzana, Uruñuela y Mahave y las casas de Nájera.

    TREVIANA / 743 TREVIANA El municipio de Treviana se ubica en la comarca de la Rioja Alta y en la subcomarca de Haro, zona situada en el noroeste de la región, separada del País Vasco y de Burgos por los montes Obarenes y regada por el río Tirón, afluente del Ebro procedente de Burgos. Dentro de la comarca, Treviana pertenece al Somontano Obarene, articulándose en torno al valle del río Aguanal, afluente del Tirón. Dista de Logroño 56 km, y su acceso más directo se realiza desde la capital por la carretera Nacional 232 hasta Tirgo, tomando a partir de allí el desvío de Tre- viana, situado a mano izquierda por la carretera local LR-303. La primera mención aparece en un dudoso documento del año 903, en que un monasterio de San Andrés de Treviana es sometido por el matrimonio Diego Obecoz y Gontroda al de San Mamés en Molinos de Obarenes. En 1052 dicho cenobio es incorporado al de Santa María la Real de Nájera, dependencia confirmada por Alfonso VII el 25 de noviembre de 1155 y por Alfonso VIII el 14 de marzo de 1175. Sin embargo, el 5 de mayo de 1199 figura en la bula del papa Inocencio III como parte integrante del patrimonio del monasterio de San Millán de la Cogolla. En el siglo XI Treviana se menciona en numerosos documentos, de los que citamos una selección. El 6 de diciembre de 1028 figura la tercia de Treviana en la donación que Sancho el Mayor efectúa a San Millán de la Cogolla de las villas que fueron de Oveco Díaz.

THE WINERY: Bodegas Martínez Corta is located in Uruñuela, in the heart of Rioja Alta. Viticulturalists for generations, the decision was made over fifty years ago to produce quality wines. Since the 1960s Martínez Corta has consistently been the most important wine estate in Uruñuela, elaborating in a medieval cellar that has remained a part of the estate. The estate includes 225 acres of old-vine Tempranillo, located in Uruñuela, Cenicero and San Asensio, all head-pruned and with a minimum age of 40 years. Vineyard parcels are typically located on high slopes poor in organic materials, maintaining elegance and minerality in the wines. A gravity-flow bodega was designed to produce fully extracted, fruit-driven wines expressing the complexity and velvet palate of the noble Tempranillo variety.

    RESUMEN SITUACIÓN ENFERMEDAD POR CORONAVIRUS (COVID 19) EN LA RIOJA. 11 DE MAYO DE 2020 A 28 DE FEBRERO DE 2021. Desde el inicio de la nueva estrategia de vigilancia de la enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID 19) a partir del 11 de mayo de 2020 se han detectado en La Rioja 22.870 casos. De éstos, 103 en los últimos 7 días, dando lugar a una incidencia acumulada (IA) de casos de Covid-19 de 32,51 casos por 100.000 habitantes, y 261 en los últimos 14 días (IA: 82,39 casos por 100.000 habitantes) (Figuras 1 y 2). Figura 1. Evolución número de casos por fecha de diagnóstico. La Rioja. 1a. Evolución del número de casos desde el 11/05/2020. 1b. Evolución del número de casos en los últimos 14 días. La tendencia descrita por la incidencia acumulada en 14 días muestra una incidencia baja y estable durante los meses de mayo, junio y julio. A partir de la primera semana de agosto se observa una tendencia ascendente que se mantiene hasta finales de ese mismo mes cuando la incidencia alcanza una meseta en torno a los 360 casos por 100.000 habitantes. A mediados de septiembre se observa un pico con 490 casos por 100.000 habitantes. En torno al 12 de octubre la incidencia comienza a subir nuevamente para llegar a una meseta con un descenso posterior que comienza en torno al 11 de noviembre, tendencia descendente que posteriormente se consolida. A partir del 14 de diciembre la tendencia cambia y comienza una nueva fase ascendente de crecimiento lento.
