UNDERDOG racconta come una nazione ha trovato un salvatore improbabile: un umile, adorabile Beagle che diventa un eroe volante, in grado di combattere il crimine mentre parla in rima. UNDERDOG vede un cast di talenti umani e canini, tra cui Jim Belushi (“La vita secondo Jim”), Jason Lee (“My Name Is Earl”), Patrick Warburton (“Seinfeld”), Peter Dinklage (“Elf”, “The Station Agent”), Brad Garrett (“Tutti amano Raymond”) e la candidata agli Academy Award® Amy Adams (“Junebug”, “Come d’incanto”), assieme ai giovani attori in ascesa Alex Neuberger e Taylor Momsen (“Il Grinch”). Improvvisamente, un giovane Beagle normale senza casa si ritrova con dei poteri straordinari, senza dimenticare l’incredibile abilità di trasformare il suo modo di abbaiare in un discorso umano. Ora, dotato di un attraente costume da supereroe, questo improbabile crociato intabbarrato, che si autodefinisce umilmente Underdog (e che ha la voce di Jason Lee) giura di proteggere i cittadini indifesi di Capitol City, in particolare una bellissima Spaniel chiamata Polly Purebred (a cui Amy Adams presta la sua voce).
