I do not feel qualified to tell you what to cut, keep, very happy with all of the very diverse options we are given. I personally have a hard time change, eliminate or add. If places like sportscenters, zip-lines, and waterparks cannot sustain mostly on their own, the Park District should not support the cost when the overall benefit is higher when the funds are allocated elsewhere. Some of these activities are well underpriced in my opinion. for instance, golf is cheaper in Rockford than near anywhere else. Some user fees could be raised. The Meecheegander Missives: Information on Michigan and Detroit to Prepare Information and Referral Professionals for the 2011 AIRS Conference in the ‘D’ June 5 – 8, 2011 The Meecheegander Missives.doc i The original posts to the AIRS Networker listserve were made daily from April 10, 2011 to June 5, 2011. During June, July, and August, the posts were collected into a single document, corrected when necessary, reformatted, garnished with illustrations pirated from the Internet, and indexed. Final edits were made August 10, 2011. The Meecheegander Missives.doc ii Introduction When it was announced that the 2011 Annual Training and Education Conference of the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) was coming to Michigan, those of us on the board of the local affiliate, MI-AIRS, knew we had our work cut out for us. With the help of Sharon Galler (who has coordinated AIRS Conferences from coast to coast), we divvied up assignments and set to work. I volunteered to write an FAQ for the Conference (a copy of which can be found at the back of this document) to be posted on the MI-AIRS Web site. And I also impetuously volunteered to contribute daily postings promoting the conference to the AIRS Networker , the listserv that’s followed by most people in the profession of community information and referral. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I enjoy writing, and how much work could it take—15 or 20 minutes a day or so? WRONG. It wound up taking a lot more time and effort than I had anticipated.

In response to this, several student groups have been formed in the University's history in an attempt to increase student awareness, support, and attendance at events. Unfortunately, these attempts have failed in the past. This project provided a solid foundation for the new student fan organization, "Red Riot." The marketing strategies used were based upon research into the success and failure of other fan organizations, athletic traditions, and sport marketing theories while considering the differences NIU faces versus the majority of athletic organizations, specifically the location outside a major metropolitan area and its "suitcase campus" student body. Because ofthese traits, the majority ofNIU students need additional motivation to bring them to an athletic event. While NIU has a few fans who attend as "supporters" and "appreciators," the majority of attendees are "socialites." Thus, to appeal to these students, high levels of interaction, in-game promotions, and an environment that promotes a fun, social atmosphere is necessary. Ribeiro, PhD University of Pittsburgh, 2013 This dissertation is a case study that explores black and Latino relations in North Philadelphia neighborhoods from the 1950s through the 1980s. It draws upon community organization records, local government documents, newspapers, and oral histories. In the fifties and sixties, scarce housing, language barriers, Puerto Ricans’ ambiguous racial identity, and slow adaptation by local institutions contributed to racial tension and social segregation. But from the late sixties through the late seventies, black-Latino relationships markedly improved. During this crucial decade, blacks and Latinos increasingly drew upon their shared circumstances to form strategic alliances. They used grassroots organizing to pressure existing institutions, focusing on basic issues like schools, housing, and police.
