THIRD STEP OF EUROREGION “COUNTRY OF LAKES” Strategy 2020 of Euroregion „Country of Lakes” Project „Third STEP for the strategy of Euroregion “Country of lakes” – planning future together for sustainable social and economic development of Latvian-Lithuanian- Belarussian border territories/3rd STEP” "3-rd step” 2014 Strategy 2020 of Euroregion „Country of Lakes” This action is funded by the European Union, by Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus Cross-border Cooperation Programme within the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument. The Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus Cross-border Cooperation Programme within the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument succeeds the Baltic Sea Region INTERREG IIIB Neighbourhood Programme Priority South IIIA Programme for the period of 2007-2013. The overall strategic goal of the programme is to enhance the cohesion of the Latvian, Lithuanian and Belarusian border region, to secure a high level of environmental protection and to provide for economic and social welfare as well as to promote intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity. Latgale region in Latvia, Panevėžys, Utena, Vilnius, Alytus and Kaunas counties in Lithuania, as well as Vitebsk, Mogilev, Minsk and Grodno oblasts take part in the Programme. The Joint Managing Authority of the programme is the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania. The web site of the programme is www.enpi-cbc.eu. The European Union is made up of 28 Member States who have decided to gradually link together their know-how, resources and destinies. Þegar eina fyrirtækið í iðnaðarbæ lokar, upplifa íbúarnir félags- og fjárhagslegar afleiðingar og sækjast eftir vinnu í nágrannabæjum eða borgum. Lokun Ignalina kjarnorkuversins hefur valdið kaflaskiptum í bænum Visaginas, sem tilheyrði kjarnorkuverinu. Missir aðal atvinnufyrirtækisins og rússnesk fortíð bæjarins hafði mikil áhrif á líf íbúana. Afskekkt staðsetning Visaginas og að rússneska hélst aðal tungumál íbúanna eftir að Litháen endurheimti sjálfstæði sitt, dró úr atvinnumöguleikum íbúa Visaginas í öðrum bæjum í Litháen. Fyrsta markmið þessarar rannsóknar var að kanna hvaða augum þúsaldarkynslóðin lítur náttúrulegt umhverfi Visaginas og byggðina í ljósi hnattvæðingar. Hitt markmiðið var að kanna afstöðu unga fólksins til hlutverks fortíðar Visaginas sem „kjarnorkubær“ í þróun bæjarins. -

Lietuva yra labai tinkamas gyventi žmogui kraštas, vienas tinkamiau- sių pasaulyje ne tik dėl gamtinių, bet ir dėl socialinių ekonominių sąly- Vidmantas Daugirdas gų, vietos gyventojų pastangų gražinti, puoselėti savo Tėvynę. Mūsų Donatas Burneika Lietuvos dabar retai apgyventos teritorijos ateityje įgaus vis didesnę vertę, nes greitai Europoje tiesiog ims trūkti „laisvos“ erdvės nenorintiems Edis Kriaučiūnas gyventi mieste ir gyventojų perpildytoje teritorijoje. Todėl tikėtina, Gintaras Ribokas kad ir dalis Lietuvos kaimų ateityje atsigaus, ims kurtis iš naujo. Ir pir- retai apgyventos miausia čia norės apsigyventi sugrįžę iš emigracijos ir didžiųjų miestų Saulius Stanaitis lietuviai. Tačiau tai bus ne taip greitai ir ne taip gausiai, kaip norėtųsi. Rūta Ubarevičienė teritorijos 2012–2013 m. Lietuvos socialinių tyrimų centro Visuomenės geogra- fijos ir demografijos institute buvo vykdomas nacionalinės mokslo programos „Socialiniai iššūkiai nacionaliniam saugumui“ mokslinių Lietuvos apgyventos teritorijos retai tyrimų projektas „Lietuvos retai apgyventos teritorijos ir jų gyven- tojai“. Monografijoje skelbiama dalis šio tyrimo metu surinktos ir apibendrintos medžiagos. There is a need to understand and highlight the issues faced in the Ignalina region by both the tourism sector and the elderly population. This paper will analyse the relation between elderly population and the tourism activities. Furthermore, it will describe the role of both local governments and local businesses towards the regional development. It supposes that the elderly population should be involved in the touristic activities, as the Ignalina region has great possibilities to develop tourism for the inactive tourist such as activities that offer relaxation. GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA RESOLUTION No 573 of 8 May 2003 ON THE APPROVAL OF THE DIRECTIONS FOR MITIGATING THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE CLOSURE OF UNIT 1 AND UNIT 2 OF THE STATE ENTERPRISE IGNALINA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT Vilnius Acting pursuant to Article 8 of the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Regional Development (Valstybės Žinios (Official Gazette) No 66-1987, 2000; No 123-5558, 2002) and the National Energy Strategy approved by Resolution No IX-1130 of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania of 10 October 2002 (Valstybės Žinios (Official Gazette) No 99-4397, 2002), the Government of the Republic of Lithuania h a s r e s o l v e d: 1. To approve the Directions for Mitigating the Consequences of the Closure of Unit 1 and Unit 2 of the State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (appended). 2. To charge the Ministry of Economy with the following tasks: 2.1. envisaging measures for the modernisation of the energy sector upon closure of Unit 1 and Unit 2 of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, to be incorporated in the National Energy Strategy implementation plan which is under preparation; 2.2. drafting, by 15 November 2004, a programme for the decommissioning of Unit 2 of the State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant and submitting it to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania for approval. 3. The Governor of Utena County shall draft a development plan of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant Region and submit it to the Development Council of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant Region for approval. -

There were 40 registered Molétai participants from all walks of life at the seminar, and discussions were engaged and delivered several concrete ideas. The vice - mayor was present – not only a short time – but through the whole meeting, and concluded the meeting with some spontaneous good words. -

Initially, baseline studies on urinary iodine levels among school going children, following the WHO methodology, were undertaken and confirmed that that the country are classified as “mild” iodine deficient. The National study carried out in 1996 confirmed that iodine deficiency is a serious problem in Bulgaria as well as that the measures undertaken in 1994 by Decree of the Council of the Ministers were appropriate. These measures include mandatory use of iodized salt by the population and in the foods production, sale’s ban of non iodized salt, systematic monitoring of the market and food production facilities, regular studies on the status of IDD.
