Due to his affiliation with Brighton, he was a guest at their promotion fixture. Look to invite Bobby this season. Review of Season 2016-17 General consensus is that whilst there is always room for improvement, the first Forever R’s Season could not have gone better. 56 former players were inducted into The Forever R’s Club. Aiming for a similar level of engagement this season working a month in advance of fixtures. Aim to keep the format at half time the same as Fans seem to like the interviews and presentations. Important that Inductees get invited back, should not be a one off. Agreed we should keep it two inductees per match. Ian Gillard really grew into his role and we hope to see just as much of him this year. Agreed that a former player should be approached to be a Vice-President to appeal to younger generation of fans. Events Season 2017-18 IT shared the PR plans for 100 Years at Loftus Road which we can link into The Forever R’s Club – e.g.: link the 100th Forever R Inductee Look at stars of Loftus Road Event v Ipswich Town (Saturday 9 September). Past Forever R’s inductees forming a team from across the decades to celebrate 100 years. Identify oldest living past player. Stars of 67 to be repeated in same format in W12 with three guests on the panel hosted by Paul Morrissey. Oct/Nov 2017 – 100 Years of Loftus Road. March 2018 – Stars of 1992/93 CG suggested a Rodney Marsh Day as a possible focus. Golf Day A huge success in year one providing The Forever R’s Club with a good income and the participants and former players a great day out. Stockley Park should be the host venue for this year’s Golf Day. March/April preferred window for the event. Attempt to get First Team player involvement this year. Legends matches The one area we haven’t managed to deliver in year one, but now we have established the Forever R’s Club as a concept and players are in contact with us more regularly, it should be easier to get a team out playing if the right opportunity presents itself. In Memory of Match Very well received by fans, but the difference it makes to Families of those no longer here is very powerful. Repeat again for Saturday 23rd December v Aston Villa or Monday 1st January v Cardiff City – will need space for 20 for ALL families. Committee to nominate six former players we should honour.
