Displayed on the tabletop were various home-made items of lace and textile that she was offering for sale. As a student of the his- tory of art, I was all too familiar with canonised Art, with capital A, but en- tirely ignorant about domestically crafted textiles. Yet I stopped in my tracks, captivated as I was by an ungraspable aesthetics that was quite alien to me, as it was light years away from the universe of male-dominated Renaissance art. There was one piece, featuring both abstract and stylised patterns, that I found particularly attractive – despite myself. When I enquired about the price, the woman asked: ‘Are you married?’. I told her I was not. ‘Then I cannot sell this piece to you’, she said. I stood there dumbfound, unable to comprehend why this should be the case, and tried to assure her that I found the piece genuinely beautiful. Speaking in the local dialect, slowly and clearly for my benefit, she said she believed me, but that that was not the point. -

Tunisians figure disproportionately among the foreign jihadist cohort, yet their ubiquity is somewhat confounding. Why Tunisians? Although efforts towards natural restoration are increasing rapidly as a result of restoration projects, the area of degraded rangelands has continued to expand and the severity of desertification has continued to intensify. Any damage caused by disturbances, such as grazing and recurrent drought, may be masked by a return of favorable rainfall conditions. In this work, conducted during March 2018, we surveyed the botanical composition and species diversity of natural rangelands in Tataouine in southern Tunisia. The flora comprised about 279 species belonging to 58 families, with 54% annuals and 46% perennials. The Asteraceae family had the greatest richness of species, followed by Poaceae, Fabaceae, Amaranthaceae, Brassicaceae, Boraginaceae, Caryophyllaceae, Lamiaceae, Apiaceae, and Cistaceae. Therophytes made the highest contribution, followed by chamaephytes and hemicryptophytes. Of all these species, 40% were palatable to highly palatable and more than 13% are used in both traditional and modern medicine. Citation: Gamoun, M.; Louhaichi, M. In Numbers WFP provides capacity-strengthening activities aimed at enhancing the Government-run National School Feeding Programme (NSFP) that reaches 260,000 children (125,000 girls and 135,000 boys) in 2,500 primary schools. The budget for national school feeding doubled in 2019, reaching US$16 million WFP Tunisia per year. Analysis of the Tunisian Tax Incentives Regime March 2013 OECD Paris, France Analysis of the Tunisian Tax Incentives Regime OECD mission, 5-9 November 2012 “…We are working with Tunisia, who joined the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters in July 2012, to review its tax incentives regime and to support its efforts to develop a new investment law.” Remarks by Angel Gurría, OECD Secretary-General, delivered at the Deauville Partnership Meeting of the Finance Ministers in Tokyo, 12 October 2012 1. Executive Summary This analysis of the Tunisian tax incentives regime was conducted by the OECD Tax and Development Programme1 at the request of the Tunisian Ministry of Finance. Following discussions with the government, the OECD agreed to conduct a review of the Tunisian tax incentive system within the framework of the Principles to Enhance the Transparency and Governance of Tax Incentives for Investment in Developing Countries.2 As requested by the Tunisian authorities, the objective of this review was to understand the current system’s bottlenecks and to propose changes to improve efficiency of the system in terms of its ability to mobilise revenue on the one hand and to attract the right kind of investment on the other. The key findings are based on five days of intensive consultations and analysis. Key Findings and Recommendations A comprehensive tax reform effort, including tax policy and tax administration, is critical in the near term to mobilize domestic resources more effectively. The tax reform programme should include, but not be limited to, the development of a new Investment Incentives Code, aimed at transforming the incentives scheme. -

Soils of Tunisia
Soils of Tunisia Amor Mtimet1 Introduction Pedological studies based on soil survey, photo- interpretation, laboratory analysis, and remote sensing, were implemented in Tunisia since more than half-century. The magnitude of these surveys is so high that they practically cover the whole territory of the country. They were aimed mainly at acquiring better knowledge of country’s soil re- sources in order to use them in land reclamation and agricultural development projects. Therefore, Tunisia is among the few African countries where abundant soil data and studies are available. They include: • 636 Pedological studies; • 310 Specialised pedological studies; • 2,085 Preliminary survey studies; and • 18 Bulletins published by the Soils Directorate. Thus totalling 3,049 classified documents. About 65% of the total surface area of the country is covered by pedological surveys, which equals to about 10,669,000 ha. Nevertheless some of those concerned with agriculture development, often ig- nore this large mass of valuable soil data. It is becoming evident that the decision-makers are more prone to consider crop and animal production, hy- draulic works and management plans rather than the sustainable use of land resources. MEMOIRE Algébrique Dans Le Cadre Des Algèbre Observationnelles, Et La Bisimulation
UNIVERSITE DE TUNIS EL MANAR FACULTE DES SCIENCES DE TUNIS Résumé : Les notions d’observabilité permettent de focaliser sur le comportement observable d’un système, tout en faisant abstraction des détails internes d’implémentation. Dans ce cadre, les Département de Géologie techniques de vérification formelle se basent sur les notions d’équivalence comportementale, exprimant l’idée d’indistinguabilité des états d’un système. Dans ce travail, nous nous intéressons à deux notions d’équivalence comportementale : l’équivalence observationnelle MEMOIRE algébrique dans le cadre des algèbre observationnelles, et la bisimulation. Nous proposons et formalisons catégoriquement une transformation d’une algèbre observationnelle en un Présenté en vue de l’obtention du automate. Nous définissons ainsi une sous-classe d’automates de Moore que nous appelons Automates d’Algèbres Observationnelles (AAO).
