Town of Cambridge Street Tree Masterplan . STREET TREE MASTERPLAN Why do we need a Street Tree Masterplan Street trees are one of the Town's most important natural assets. The Town is known for its leafy streetscapes and diverse urban canopy. From boulevard plantings such as Oceanic Drive to avenue plantings of Joseph Street and St Leonards Ave, street trees contribute significantly to the character and identity of the Town. However as temperatures increase and urban development accelerates , the role played by our street trees as 'green infrastructure' has become even more critical. The Street Tree Masterplan (STMP) will ensure the longevity and sustainability of these assets, as well as the character of our streetscapes and identity of our local spaces.
