That’s not just a slogan, and it’s no cliché to say that our future—and the future of our communities—depend on your success. The vast majority of our students are local. You aren’t merely making a pit stop here for a few semesters, learning skills you plan to apply elsewhere. You want good jobs close to the home—and we want to help you prepare to fill those jobs. You have a sense of belonging here, of caring about what happens here— and so do we. You want the area to thrive—and so do we. You, our students, are the area’s workforce, its entrepreneurs, its nurses, its teachers—quite simply, its present and its future. In that spirit, in an effort to help students from enrollment to graduation, Germanna has launched a new Student Success Coach Program. If you want Dr. David A. Sam extra support, inquire about the program. The coaches will stay with you all the way through your time at Germanna, giving you the help you need to succeed in college and in life. For over four decades, Germanna’s award-winning and dedicated faculty and staff have provided quality education, training and services to the citizens of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania, Stafford counties and the city of Fredericksburg. We have grown to become the seventh largest community college in Virginia and fourteenth largest among all public institutions of higher learning in the Commonwealth. But we still approach service one student at a time, offering personal attention in an atmosphere of high challenge and high support. Even as we grow, at Germanna you will know your teachers—and they will know you. Germanna offers over 30 programs in transfer and career and technical areas of study at our Fredericksburg Area Campus in Spotsylvania, our Locust Grove Campus in Orange, our Culpeper Daniel Technology Center, at our two centers in Stafford County, and through online courses and extension sites throughout our region. We are pleased you have chosen Germanna. I look forward to opportunities to hear from you during open forums, through e-mail, and social media as we plan the next 40 years at Germanna. We promise to be your partner in helping you create your own future. Thank you for sharing that future with us here at Germanna. Sincerely, David A. Sam For more information about the Student Success Coach program, email Brian Ogle at [email protected].
