The modules are delivered as interactive e-learning lessons and have associated online discussion forums, plus end of module self-assessment tests. A module is released every four weeks with participants required to pass a multiple choice online exam and a written assignment. The learning management system monitors your progress and ensures you re-enter lessons at the point you left them.

Although designed as a 16-week programme, the need for flexibility in some individuals’ study programmes due to varying work commitments is recognised. Participants are able to request to defer to the next intake, and for up to a maximum of one year, without any additional fees.

Successful participants are awarded a certificate of study by the prestigious University of St Andrews, with the course accredited at level seven of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework.
