Due to inclement weather last year's contest was unavoidably cancelled. 1hope that the recent wintry conditions are now far be~ind us so that the first of th~ Inter Schools' Competitions# organised by my Committee, during th~ month of March, will definitely take place. As no one School has proved to be particularly dominant this season the final outcome should be extremely interesting. Most of the fourteen educational establishments from which the County Under 18 XV was selected will be participating. Each in their own particular fashion will be aiming to reach the Final and emerge victorious. We may even find that a new name will emerge to be engraved on the trophy. Good Luck to vou allili To the Macclesfield Club, who are always so ready to promote the development of Youth Rugby-our sincere thanks for your ever ready assistance. We also express our gratitude to ail those who have made any contribution to the success of today-referees, groundsmen, caterers and soon. Finally 1 must refer to the generosity of Abbott & Owen Investment Services Ltd., of Chester. Through their timely financial assistance we are able, not only to offer some hospitality to our visitors but we can continue to present very attractive medals to both the Winners and Runners-Up, mementoes which 1feel sure the recipients will greatly tre~su"e. Newsletter May 2017 Welcome to the second edition of the Chester School Sport Partnership newsletter in 2017. This newsletter focuses on the Level 3 School Games competitions which are the Cheshire and Warrington county finals for the Level 2 events held by Chester SSP over the last few months. A huge congratulations to all the schools who represented Chester, we had some amazing teams who took part in the competition which was spread out over a two week period in March across Cheshire. Overall we had eight schools from Chester who won medals, and one school won the Spirit of the Games award. This is a fantastic achievement and shows how strong Sport and PE is within our area. Thank you to all the teachers, parents, volunteers, and the children for your support at these fantastic events. The following pages show the results and a selection of photographs from each of the events. Page 1 Level 3 School Games: U15 Girls and Boys Handball Day 1 of the Cheshire and Warrington Winter School Games saw 10 schools from all over Cheshire and Warrington descend upon the Northgate Arena for the U15 Boys and Girls Handball competition. There was an excited buzz around the sports hall whilst all the teams warmed up. When all the schools had arrived the opening ceremony began, and the players sat in their schools teams with brightly coloured team shirts on show. Upton High School Girls and Tarporley High School Boys were our Chester schools representatives sporting the yellow t-shirts. The players made their way to the courts in readiness for the first games to begin, all players ready, the hooter sounded and the games began! The standard of handball just got better and better throughout the afternoon, high quality games were matched with excellent umpiring.

Secondary Education First Admission to Year 7 Information for Parents 2020/21 Apply on line at: www.warrington.gov.uk/admissions Apply on line at: www.warrington.gov.uk/admissions INTRODUCTION Families and Wellbeing New Town House Buttermarket Street Warrington Cheshire WA1 2NH Dear Parents/Carers This booklet has been produced as a guide to all admissions to secondary schools in the Borough of Warrington. There are three types of secondary school admissions which are as follows: 1. Children transferring from Year 6 to Year 7 in September 2020 (referred to as normal rounds of admission); 2. In year admissions, which are all other admissions where children move from one school to another part way through a school year; and 3. Admissions to schools with an atypical age range, such as University Technical College. The booklet provides important information on the processes associated with admissions to schools and gives details of how places are allocated (normal rounds) which should help you make an informed decision about your preferences. Please take the time to read the booklet carefully before completing an application, even if you have already decided which schools you prefer. The law gives parents/carers the right to express a preference for which school you wish your child to attend. It is very important that you understand that this is not the same as being able to choose a school. Admission to your school of first preference depends on meeting the criteria that are explained in this booklet and availability of places at the school. The booklet tells you about the schools in Warrington, how to apply for a place and what to do if we cannot meet the preferences that you express.
