Die Wanzenfunde (Insecta: Heteroptera) des im August 2013 ab- gehaltenen 39. Treffens der „Arbeitsgruppe Mitteleuropäischer Heteropterologen“ in Admont und dem Nationalpark Gesäuse werden gelistet. Von 26 BearbeiterInnen wur- den 202 Arten dokumentiert. Biogeographisch bemerkenswerte Nachweise sind die bei- den österreichischen Subendemiten Camptozygum pumilio und Dimorphocoris schmidti. Selten gefundene Arten sind Phytocoris intricatus und Carpocoris melanocerus, sowie im Pürgschachenmoos Limnoporus rufoscutellatus und Orthotylus flavinervis. Insgesamt wurden die zuvor aus den Gebieten vorliegenden Artenlisten um 169 neue Fundort- nachweise erweitert, das Wanzenarteninventar im Nationalpark Gesäuse beträgt nun 267 Arten und im Pürgschachenmoos 154 Arten. Abstract. True bug records (Insecta: Heteroptera), collected during the 39th meeting of the “Working Group of Central European Heteropterists” in August 2013 in Admont and the National park Gesäuse, are listed. 26 colleagues documented 202 species. Biogeo- graphically interesting are the records of two Austrian subendemic species, Camptozy- gum pumilio and Dimorphocoris schmidti. Rare species are Phytocoris intricatus and Car- pocoris melanocerus, and in the Pürgschachenmoos Limnoporus rufoscutellatus and Orthotylus flavinervis. Altogether, species lists of the investigated localities were extend- ed by 169 new records, the species inventory of the National park Gesäuse increased to 267 species, and of the Pürgschachenmoos to 154 species. Key words. Heteroptera, Styria, National park Gesäuse, Pürgschachenmoos. 129 1. Einleitung Vom 15.-18. August 2013 fand das 39. Treffen der „Arbeitsgruppe Mitteleuropäischer Heteropterologen“ in Admont und im Nationalpark Gesäuse statt. Über den Ablauf des wissenschaftlichen und sozialen Programmes berichten FR IE ß & RABITSCH (2014) in vor- liegendem Band. Der hier vorgelegte Bericht enthält die wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse der wanzenkundlichen Erhebungen an den Untersuchungsstandorten in der Umgebung von Admont, im Nationalpark Gesäuse und im Pürgschachenmoos. 2. Untersuchungsstandorte Die Kurzbeschreibungen der Untersuchungsstandorte wurden für die Sulzkaralm und die Kölblalm von REMSCHAK (2005) entnommen. Oberst-Klinke-Hütte Die Vegetation um die Oberst-Klinke-Hütte (1.436 m Seehöhe) wird durch unterschied- liche subalpine Weiderasengesellschaften geprägt, die von Latschengebüschen und Fichtenwald umgeben sind. Die Struktur und Charakteristik des Hangs nördlich der Hütte wird durch Lawinenrinnen, Quellgerinne, kleine Tümpel und Ampferfluren auf- gelockert. Eine Liste der bisher bekannten Wanzenarten umfasst 72 Arten (Frieß, unver- öff.). Sulzkaralm Die Sulzkaralm liegt zwischen rund 1.300 und 1.700 m Seehöhe und wurde zwischen der Almhütte (1.453 m) und dem Fuß des Rotofens besammelt. Einige Daten stammen von einem kurzen Zwischenstopp bei der Auffahrt zwischen Nogerwald und Waaggra- ben auf 860 m Seehöhe. Der geologische Untergrund besteht aus Kalkgestein. Durch Lawineneinwirkung und Beweidung mit Rindern und Pferden ist ein abwechslungsrei- ches Mosaik von sekundären Weiderasen, Weidewald, Latschengebüschen, Hochstau- denfluren, (sub)alpinen Rasen und Felsfluren entstanden. Im Bereich der Unterhänge treten Niedermoore auf. Etwas abseits des Hauptweges befindet sich der Sulzkarsee, der einzige See im Nationalpark Gesäuse. Eine Liste der bisher bekannten Wanzenarten um- fasst 60 Arten (FR IE ß 2006, Frieß, unveröff.). Kölblalm Die Kölblalm liegt auf der Nordseite des oberen Johnsbachtales zwischen 1.020 und 1.269 m Seehöhe im Nationalpark Gesäuse. Nach der Verhüttung der erzführenden Kalkschichten seit der Bronzezeit, wird die Alm seit dem 18. Jahrhundert als Viehwirt- schaft betrieben. Oberhalb der Kölblhütte befindet sich eine Magerweide, die von Misch- wald umgeben ist und im Norden von Fichtenwald begrenzt wird; unterhalb der Kölbl- 130 hütte befinden sich Mähwiesen. Eine Liste der bisher bekannten Wanzenarten umfasst 54 Arten (FR IE ß 2007, Frieß, unveröff.). Pürgschachenmoos Das Pürgschachenmoos ist ein sauer-oligotrophes Regenmoor und eines der letzten, größeren Talbodenhochmoore Österreichs. Es wird in Abhängigkeit von den hydrologi- schen Bedingungen von Latschenhochmoor-, Bunten Torfmoos- und Schlammseggen- gesellschaften geprägt und ist von Pfeifengraswiesen, Feuchtwiesen, Feuchtwiesenbra- chen, Hochstaudenfluren, Feuchtgebüschen und Wirtschaftswiesen umgeben. Das Pürgschachenmoos ist Landschaftsschutzgebiet, Natura-2000-Gebiet, Ramsar- und LIFE-Natur-Projekt-Gebiet. Es liegen entomologische Beabeitungen für einige Gruppen vor (z. B. Heuschrecken, Libellen, Zikaden, Schmetterlinge; vgl. KR EINE R & MA R IN G E R 2013); eine Wanzenliste wurde von FR IE ß & KO R N (2013) vorgelegt. Darin sind inklusive historischer Angaben, vor allem von Herbert FR ANZ (1908-2002) (FR ANZ & WA G NE R 1961), 114 Wanzenarten genannt. In systematic review a total of eighty four species in twenty eight genera of Phylines are recognized from the Korean Peninsula. During this study, twenty new reports including six new species were investigated; and purposed a synonym and revised recombination. Keys to genera and species, diagnosis, descriptions including male and female genitalia, illustrations and short biological notes are provided for each of the species.

The bite was registered in the locality Santa Rosa La Pampa, Argentina (36°37'29.02"S, 64°17'19.13"W). The insect was not provoked by the victim, and thus, the bite was probably not in self-defense. Resumen Se describe el primer caso de una picadura adventicia en un ser humano por Nabis argentinus Meyer-Dür 1870, en la localidad de Santa Rosa La Pampa, Argentina (36°37'29.02"S, 64°17'19.13"W). El insecto no fue provocado por la víctima, por lo que probablemente la picadura no fue en defensa propia. Por lo tanto, concluimos que el insecto picó a la víctima en búsqueda de recursos de hidratación.

The eggs were studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and the results complete previous observations.The emphasis of the study is on the characteristics of eggs and details of oviposition in representatives of the family Rhopalidae. The chorionic origin of attachment stalk was confi rmed only in the Chorosomatini. A completely smooth egg chorion was recognized in R. (A.) maculatus, as a unique condition within at least the Pentatomomorpha. Key words. Egg morphology is helpful for taxonomic and phylogenetic purposes. The morphology of heteropteran eggs varies distinctly among taxa; for details see two monographs: SOUTHWOOD (1956) and COB- BEN (1968). Both authors mentioned that the eggs of the coreoid family Rhopalidae have a specifi c morphological pattern (e.g. two micropylar processes). COBBEN (1968) not only compared the morphology of heteropteran eggs but made phylogenetic inferences from their important characters.

In the case of insects, most published DNA barcoding studies focus on species of the Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera, Hymenoptera and especially Lepidoptera. In this study we test the efficiency of DNA barcoding for true bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), an ecological and economical highly important as well as morphologically diverse insect taxon. As part of our study we analyzed DNA barcodes for 1742 specimens of 457 species, comprising 39 families of the Heteroptera. We found low nucleotide distances with a minimum pairwise K2P distance ,2.2% within 21 species pairs (39 species). For ten of these species pairs (18 species), minimum pairwise distances were zero. In contrast to this, deep intraspecific sequence divergences with maximum pairwise distances .2.2% were detected for 16 traditionally recognized and valid species. With a successful identification rate of 91.5% (418 species) our study emphasizes the use of DNA barcodes for the identification of true bugs and represents an important step in building-up a comprehensive barcode library for true bugs in Germany and Central Europe as well.

A case study on the invertebrate fauna in the Gesäuse National Park (Styria, Austria) Christian Komposch, Thomas Frieß & Daniel Kreiner Abstract Avalanches are feared by humans and considered “catastrophic” due to their unpredictable and destructive force. But this anthropocentric perspective fails to capture the potential ecological value of these natural disturbances. The Gesäuse National Park is a model-region for investigations of such highly dynamic events because of its distinct relief and extreme weather conditions. This project aims to record and analyse the animal assemblages in these highly dynamic habitats as well as document succession and population structure. 1) Dynamic processes lead to one of the very few permanent and natural vegetationless habitat types in Central Europe outside the alpine zone – i. e. screes and other rocky habitats at various successional stages. In addition to the tight mosaic distribution of a variety of habitats over larger areas, avalanche tracks also offer valuable structures like dead wood and rocks. Remarkable is the sympatric occurrence of the three harvestmen species Trogulus tricarinatus, T. nepaeformis und T. tingiformis, a species diversity peak of spiders, true-bugs and ants; and the newly recorded occurrence of Formica truncorum. 2) The presence of highly adapted species and coenoses reflect the extreme environmental conditions, specific vegetation cover and microclimate of these habitats. Several of the recorded taxa are rare, endangered and endemic. The very rare dwarf spider Trichoncus hackmani is a new record for Styria and the stenotopic and critically endangered wolf-spider Acantholycosa lignaria is dependent on lying dead wood.

    Insects/Mites that Feed on Hemp – Fluid Feeders Hyaline Grass Bug Hyaline grass bug (Liorhyssus hyalinus) can be a common insect in flowering hemp with developing seeds. The adults move into hemp from various weed hosts on which they develop early in the season. Adults then begin to lay masses of reddish eggs, usually on small leaves or amongst flowers and developing seeds. The newly emerged nymphs that hatch from these eggs are initially reddish but become more straw colored or mottled as they get older. Almost all of the insects in hemp are present in the vicinity of the seed head where it is thought that they feed on flowers, developing seeds, and foliage, sucking fluids with piercing-sucking mouthparts. Sometimes a collection of rusty colored fluid excreted by the insects may be visible on the leaves in the seed head. Hemp appears to be a favored crop and egg laying has been observed to occur continuously into October, when plants are harvested. Some further development also has been noted in harvested seed Adults of the hyaline grass bug, with mating pair at heads as they dry. Overwintering stages of the top. Coloration of the adults can be quite variable. hyaline grass bug in Colorado may be a mixture of both adults and nymphs, as occurs with false chinch bug. In spring various winter annual or perennial weedy hosts support this insect, including prickly sowthistle, red-stem filaree, and cheeseweed. (Despite its common name, this insect does not breed on grasses.) No obvious damage to hemp by hyaline grass bug has been observed.
