To be considered for the Bursary you must meet the following criteria.

You chose Essex as your firm choice by 18 September 2020

Have taken part in the Aspire Higher project (if you have not attended one of the Membership Plus Partner Schools / Colleges) Register for your first year of study for a full-time undergraduate degree course at the in 2020-21 starting in October 2020 Have made a means tested application to Student Finance and have a household income of less than £20,000

You have not applied to…..

 Study a Higher/Degree Apprenticeship course.  Study as a direct entrant into the second year.  Study an online distance learning course.

Personal statement

Where there are applicants with similar levels of income and a limited number of bursaries, the personal statement will be considered as part of the application process. Please write a short statement detailing how The Essex Santander Bursary will assist you during your first year at the University of Essex and what difference it will make to your student experience. Please do not exceed 500 words.
