Whitman Phillips, at the time of his marriage, was a successful flour merchant in New York city. Mrs. Whitman Phillips graduated from the Troy Female Seminary in 1838, and is a member of the Emma Willard Association. Her presence at the meeting of the alumnas of the institution, at the seminary, on June 8, 1898, gave no little interest to the occasion. Wheeler Whitman Phillips, their son, a counselor-at-law and a solicitor of patents, in New York city, married, and died at Riclgewood, Bergen County, N. J.
