Domenica 13 ottobre si terrà nel golfo di Trieste la 51° Coppa d'autunno, meglio nota come Barcolana. E se il calcio femminile è stato solo di recente al centro dell'attenzione del grande pubblico grazie alle ottime prove della nazionale azzurra capitanata dalla triestina Barcolana Sara Gama, le donne della vela femminile sono protagoniste già da un bel po'. La nostra città vanta infatti diverse campionesse, come le atlete olimpiche Larissa Nevierov e Giulia Pignolo, fondatrici fra l'altro del al femminile gruppo Le Stelle Olimpiche che si occupa di diffondere la cultura dello sport fra la gente senza dimenticare di Martina Tommasi la categoria dei paralimpici. O – solo per fare qualche altro nome – come Francesca Clapcich, Giovanna Micol e Giulia Conti, tutte sportive che possono fregiarsi del titolo di atlete olimpiche. Non mancano inoltre gli equipaggi tutti al femminile, come ad esempio Ufo Poison dell'armatrice Carlotta Cabiati che con orgoglio ci racconta: “Parteciperemo alla Barcolana come ogni Women's anno e sempre sotto la grande famiglia dell'associazione Tempus Fugit, a sostegno della Lilt per la lotta contro il Barcolana tumore al seno”. Inoltre dell'equipaggio fanno parte anche Matilda Distefano e Carlotta Omari, attualmente impegnate nelle regate di qualificazione per le Olimpiadi di Tokyo 2020.
