Keeping the Cost of Camping Equipment Down - Low cost alternative to high cost camping equipment. Internet In Scouting (Scout Book) - Learn about using the Internet in Scouting. Training will primarily cover x x 9 the Scout Book, but other internet resources will be shown and demonstrated. Outings in Cub Scouting Outings are a big part of scouting - Turn field trips, hikes, service projects and 10 outdoor games into fun and productive events. x Get Down and Derby & Indoor Games - Learn the ins & outs of space, rain gutter and pinewood derbies and 11 x unique and creative indoor activities Cub Scout Leader Specific Breakout sessions for each adult position, topics covered include youth 12 x development and boy behavior, program planning, activities and the purposed of the program. Partnership with the Unit - A quick low down on what Order of the Arrow is, how it 13 x x works, how boys and adults get selected and the benefits of what it can do for both boys and adults. Troop Advancement & Life to Eagle - Develop a plan to advance scouts through the Scouts BSA ranks and 14 the steps to advance from Life rank to Eagle scout. x x Religious Emblems - “A Scout is Reverent” Encourage youth to learn about their faith and recognize adults 15 who provide significant service to youth in a religious environment. x x Advenced Training Opertunities and Wood Badge - Learn about advanced training opertunities in the Council 16 x x and National Level. Merit Badge Counseling and Introduction to EDGE training - This class will guide new and potential merit badge counselors through their responsibilities in the role and will give them an understanding of the methods of counseling Scouts. It is intended as a short orientation course for new merit badge counselors before they 17 x x begin working with Scouts. Additionally , this course will provide and help develop the platform skills of a trainer. This course is intended to “train the trainer” on behaviors and resources while offering hands on experience in methods and media. Scoutmaster / Assistant Scoutmaster Specific Training - The purpose of Scoutmaster Position-Specific training is to provide an active, fun, and positive learning experience for new and experienced Scoutmasters to learn and apply proven techniques for running an effective Scouts BSA troop. Scoutmasters will learn how to meet the aims of Scouting by applying the eight methods of the Scouts BSAing program during the four main 18 sessions of the course: x • Patrol Method • Support Team • Advancement • Annual Planning Running Cub Scout Field Sports - Shooting Sports is an important part of our BSA camping operations. In order to have a safe and fun shooting sports program, the BSA has set forth safety standards and training for x 19 all volunteers and staff who will be in charge of Shooting Sports Activities.
