East Sussex College has distinct and unique campuses in Lewes, Newhaven, Eastbourne and Hastings. This strategy outlines East Sussex College’s ambitious strategic intentions for the next phase of our journey ready for broad and deep discussions with our colleagues, students, parents/carers, employers, strategic partners, and local community leaders. As a learning organisation we will be listening intently to this feedback to inform our future direction. The results of this consultation will form the basis of our new Strategic Plan 2021-24. Through the life of this new plan, we will be developing new learning spaces, learning approaches, and learning platforms. We will ensure that our curriculum offer develops the skills, knowledge, and behaviours that employers locally, regionally, and nationally tell us they need. Inclusion and diversity are at the core of everything that we do and reaching out to support every member of our community is central to the College’s mission. The significant impact that COVID has already had on our local economies means that the stakes are very high. We have a huge responsibility to be agile and responsive to the needs of local people, employers and to be a conduit to drive high quality skills development, retraining opportunities and positively contribute to the local health and wealth of our communities. We take this responsibility extremely seriously. We very much look forward to ongoing dialogue with you to shape the future of our College and make sure that it delivers the very best service for the people that we serve.
