2 3 Welcome From the President

Welcome, dear friends and fellow teachers, to the 82nd Convention of the MEA. We hope that this con vention, with its new look, will help you to find what you came here seeking. Above all we hope you will find it inspiring, relaxing and professionally challenging. If during your stay you find some hours of enjoyment, some new ways of doing better the things that you normally do each day - or a new dedication to your chosen profession, the effort and time spent by so many in preparing for this convention will not have been in vain.

In the course of performing our daily duties, we find many side issues today that tend to cause us to lose sight of the major goal of improving instruction for the youth of our several communities. It is hoped that this convention will help us find a sense of proper direction and a commitment to those things that will make better the schools of our state.

''''hen the convention is over, please let us know what you liked about it, as well as what you think should be changed.

W. L. Rigby, GuHport MEA President, 1967-1968
