MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 12, 2014 REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION. THE BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING IS VIDEOTAPED AND THE VIDEO IS AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW OR A COPY CAN BE OBTAINED BY CONTACTING THE TREASURER'S OFFICE AT THE HELEN H. "SUE" OSBORN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING. The Mentor Exempted Village Board of Education held its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., at Mentor High School, Lecture Room A, 6477 Center Street, Mentor, Ohio. Members present: Mrs. Mary L. Bryner, Mrs. Virginia E. Jeschelnig, Mr. William J. Shaw, and Mr. Thomas V. Tuttle. Ms. Sally S. Miller was absent. Mrs. Bryner led the assembled in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Shaw moved, seconded by Mrs. Jeschelnig to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2014 regular meeting as corrected for typo page 184, sequence of resolution motion by Board members, July 8, 2014 regular meeting, and the July 28, 2014 special meeting. Roll Call: Ayes: Mr. Shaw, Mrs. Jeschelnig, Mr. Tuttle, Mrs. Bryner. The motion carried. 2014-8-143 At this time, Mrs. Bryner stated that there would be a hearing of the public on agenda items only. There were none. Mr. Tuttle moved, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that the Board of Education approve the consent agenda as presented by the Superintendent. Approval of the following overnight/out-of-state field trips at no cost to Board of Education: Memorial, Ridge and Shore Middle Schools’ 8th Grade Class Trip to Washington, D.C. Memorial Middle School – May 6-8, 2015 Shore Middle School – May 13-15, 2015 Ridge Middle School – May 20-22, 2015 Memorial, Ridge and Shore Middle Schools’ 8th Grade Science students to Beckley, West Virginia, for the October Sky Festival October 3-4, 2014 Approval of the following students completing requirements for graduation in August 2014: Russell C. It is our belief that the mental health of the young men who play football can be negatively affected by eliminating football for 2020. There is a growing concern about the rise in behavioral health and self harm cases among children, brought on by isolation caused by the pandemic, doctors say.

Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Girls Track & Field Player of the Year award to be announced in July, Floriea joins an elite alumni association of state award-winners in 12 sports, including Lolo Jones (1997-98, Roosevelt High School, Iowa), Allyson Felix (2002-03, Los Angeles Baptist High School, Calif.), Robert Griffin III (2006-07, Copperas Cove High School, Texas), Grant Fisher (2013-14 & 2014-15, Grand Blanc High School, Mich.) and Candace Hill (2014-15, Rockdale County High School, Ga.). The 5-foot-8 senior won four individual events at the Division 1 state meet this past season, leading the Cardinals to the state championship as a team. Floriea broke the tape in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.93 seconds, took the 200 in 24.17, captured the 400 in 54.25 and soared 19 feet, 10.25 inches to win the long jump.

The issues are related to the cable company's transmission of the signal, and not to the source of the programming at Mentor High School. [12/21/2007] Corrected 12th grade interim reports mailed [ 12/28/2007 ] Corrected interim reports for Mentor High School seniors were mailed home Friday, Dec. 21. The initial interim report mailing contained incorrect data. This error affected only 12th graders, and only in the physically mailed interim report. The interim report accessed through Infinite Campus contained the correct data. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Student council officers from Lake Elementary School served as ambassadors to Miles School in a visit on Dec. 20 to coincide with the clothing donation.
