April 12, 2017 Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould MP Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada House of Commons Ottawa, ON K1A 0A6 Dear Honourable Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould, Over the past years many of us as former Saskatoon Police Service members have tried through the assistance of investigative journalist Candis McLean to correct a terrible and damaging injustice which has caused Saskatoon Police officers to be fired and/or lose their jobs. Saskatchewan Justice has been at the centre of these injustices, failing to execute the lawful duty of their office in protecting us as police officers who took an oath to serve and protect all citizens without fear, without favour. For over a decade we have collected information and new evidence which proves the betrayal and injustice of both the Stonechild and Night cases where two officers were criminally convicted, serving a jail sentence, and two officers who were fired. Their families and other police officers’ reputations, careers and well being have been damaged. We are requesting your department review the actions of Saskatchewan Justice as it relates to these two investigations. We will gladly meet with your people and provide all information and new evidence obtained. We invite you to attend investigative journalist Candis McLean’s book signings of “When Police Become Prey” on Saturday April 22, 2017 at the Canadian Italian Club, 2148 Connaught Street, Regina from 2-5pm or on Monday April 24, 2017 at the ANAVETS Club at 359-1st Avenue North Saskatoon from 7-9pm. Thank you for your kind assistance. Yours truly, Dave Scott Police Chief, retired [email protected] h 587-269-0335 c 780-916-8250 cc: via email to: Jody Wilson-Raybould Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada [email protected] Ralph Goodale Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Prepardness [email protected] Premier Saskatchewan Brad Wall [email protected] Deputy Premier Saskatchewan Don Morgan [email protected] Justice Minister Saskatchewan Gordon Wyant [email protected] Saskatchewan Minister Responsible for Corrections and Policing [email protected] Mayor Charlie Clark Saskatoon Police Commission [email protected] Richard Peach Saskatchewan Police Commission Executive Director [email protected] Wallace Gilby Craig, Canadian Justice Review Board, [email protected] David Kahn, Director Canadian Justice Review Board, [email protected] William Nichol, Canadian Justice Review Board, [email protected] Christy Blatchford, National Post, [email protected] Kevin Libin, National Post, [email protected] John Gormley, CKOM Radio, [email protected] Barb Pachol, Regina Leader Post, [email protected] Will Chabun, Regina Leader Post, [email protected] Call Stephanow, CTV Regina, [email protected] John Weidlich, CBC Regina, [email protected] CTV Saskatoon, saskatoon.ctvnews.ca CBC Saskatoon, [email protected] Global Saskatoon, [email protected] Saskatoon Star Phoenix, [email protected] Candis McLean, [email protected] Stan Goertzen Past President Saskatoon Police Association, [email protected] Larry Hartwig, [email protected].
