Proposed Changes in Fares, Crossing Charges, and Service Hearings will be held on proposed changes in fares at the locations, dates, and times noted below. The public is invited to comment on the proposed changes which are summarized below and pertain, as applicable, to MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), MTA Metro-North Railroad (Metro-North), MTA New York City Transit (NYCT), the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (MaBSTOA), and MTA Bus and to crossing charges on MTA Bridges &Tunnels (Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority). The fare and toll proposals allow for a range of options to be considered; increases to fares or crossing charges may be less than the maximum amounts specified. Following the hearings, after considering public comment, the Boards of the MTA and its affiliated agencies will decide which potential fare adjustments to adopt. Space limitations prevent newspaper publication of each proposed new fare or crossing charge. For more complete descriptions of these potential changes, please consult information posted at MTA stations and on the MTA website, www.mta.info, or call (646) 252-6777. Following hearings, one or more of the proposed changes listed below could be adopted: NYCT, MaBSTOA, MTA Bus, SIR: LIRR & Metro North: Fares for Subway (NYCT), Local Bus (NYCT, MaBSTOA, and MTA Bus), and SIR: • Increase monthly tickets up to 4% and not more than $15. Increase weekly Base Single Ride Fare (currently $3.00 for Single Ride Ticket, and $2.75 for tickets up to 4% and not more than $5.75. Increase fares in an amount from 0 cash payment and Pay-Per-Ride (zero) to 10% on all other ticket types, with any increase greater than 6% held MetroCard®): to a maximum increase of $0.50 per trip. -

VERNON, TRAVEL 1 COMMENT Developer Reinforces Commitment to Mount Vernon’s Revitalization Mount Vernon West station is situated on Metro North’s Harlem Line. Mount Vernon City Seal in gold and maroon. PELHAM, NY — July 18, 2016 — In an acquisition that reaffirms and expands its already significant investment in the economic revival of the City of Mount Vernon, the MacQuesten Companies has purchased the strategically significant Mount Vernon West station on Metro-North’s Harlem Line. While the station’s platforms are owned by Metro-North, the station building has been privately owned since it was sold in 1959 by the original owner, the New York Central Railroad. MacQuesten bought the property from Davenis Realty Inc. for $3 million. The closing was July 14. At just 13.1 miles, Mount Vernon West is the closest station in Westchester County to Grand Central Terminal, a 22-minute ride. The station has a number of commercial tenants including a Chase Bank and several small businesses. The City of Mount Vernon is eager to transform the area from industrial uses to residential and retail development. A reimagined Metro-North station will serve as the focal point for a renaissance of a large surrounding area. “This is an underutilized property that cries out for revitalization,” said Rella Fogliano, President of the MacQuesten Companies, who has made several major investments in the city over the last several years. “The key to revitalizing and reimagining our urban areas is capitalizing on the mass transit opportunities that are already in place. -

Brewster Yard & Southeast Station and Parking Improvements Capital Engineering - Shops and Yards & Strategic Facilities Date: February 2020 Metro-North Railroad Program Goals: Brewster Yard & Southeast Station Parking Improvements Currently Brewster train yard is at capacity and cannot accommodate the future fleet and operations required to support Metro-North (MNR) Harlem Line long-term ridership growth. MNR sets forth to accomplish the following goals to meet the demand: Relocate the existing Southeast Station parking into a new parking facility, east of the station within the Metro-North’s, 52-acre property: Improve customer service and traffic circulation with more convenient, expanded parking and intermodal access. Expand and modernize Brewster Yard to support long-term ridership growth: Extend the existing yard to the north into the current Southeast Parking footprint after the new parking facility is complete.
