This year’s ATypI conference in Hong Kong celebrates diversity and multilingualism. We aim to foster a culture of international exchange and cross-cultural dialogue for all matters related to typography. We encourage propos- als of case studies, theoretical discussions, workshops and panel discussions concerning typography and type design from historical, cultural, aesthetic, linguistic as well as technological perspectives. We are also interested in addressing continuity and change in the practices of typography, highlighting future challenges, opportuni- ties or even redefinitions of the profession. In addition, we plan to hold special interest forums dedicated to typographic education and research, advocacy for good typography in the business realm, as well as type technology.
