We, Ecuagenera will show you everything in one trip. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT ECUADOR!! Ecuador is located on the equator, has perhaps the highest number of species of plants and animals in the world. Galápagos is already a world full of miracles. From the coast with its beautiful beaches, which invite you to a beach holiday, it goes up to 4000m high into the Andes. Crossing it, you will reach the Amazon Basin, full of plants and animals, waiting for your discovery. In addition to approximately 1600 species of birds, countless colorful insects and 4,200 orchid species that have been described in Ecuador. 16 ethnic groups enrich the trip with an incredible cultural diversity. And we at Ecuagenera are proud to show you the most beautiful places in a round trip before and after the World Orchid Conference. Since 1992, we have been offering tours to see the orchids, we know the places and ways and accompany you safely to these places. Thus we have not only discovered on these tours numerous new species of Ecuadorian species and introduced them to science. It would be a great pleasure for us to take you on a trip!! FREE TRANSFER IN GUAYAQUIL Airport to the hotel, if you arrive between NOVEMBER 7 to 11th DAY 1 - Arrival in QUITO and transport to the hotel. We bring you to the hotel, dinner is served until 9 pm. Day 2 - QUITO to BAEZA. After breakfast we drive through Quito. Quito is the capital of Ecuador, the highest capital in the world and belongs to the world cultural heritage. After the meal, the drive to the Amazon basin, crossing the Andes with up to 4,000m altitude. On the way they find the first orchids: Oncidium, Cyrtochilum, Pleurothallis, Epidendrum, Chondrorhyncha, Cochlioda u.v.m. Day 3 - BAEZA to ARCHIDONA. The road to Archidona leads through the Sumaco Napo Galeras National Park, 21 orchids and 8 species of bromeliads are endemic. Oncidium, Stanhopea, Maxillaria, Epidendrum, Oncidium, Myoxanthus, and Sobralia are on the way to the waterfall through fascinating landscapes. At the destination itself, it expects a more than rich nature where there is more to discover. The further way leads through the cloud forest of the Andes with its incredible biodiversity. On orchids they will find Maxillaria, Pleurothallis, Oncidium, Prosthechea, Stelis, Rodriguezia, Phragmipedium. Day 4 - ARCHIDONA to PUYO. In the port of Misaualli you can watch monkeys before we take the boat to the Shuar. These natives live unaffected by technology and modernity, their medical treatments, which have been the same for centuries, are particularly interesting. On the way to Puyo, we drive through one of the most aristocratic areas in Ecuador: Maxillaria, Pleurothallis, Oncidium, Prosthechea, Stelis, Rodriguezia, Phragmipedium and many other species. Day 5 -PUYO to SUCUA. Today we go to the CERFA reserve. On the way, they meet other settlements of SHUAR culture. In Macas we will make an intermediate stop, there the river UPANO, with its fascinating landscapes, thrills in many places. Also this trip is species rich, they are now encountered in their natural habitat in Epidendrum, Oncidium, Psygmorchis, Warrea, Maxillaria, Dryadella, Vanilla, Myoxanthus, Trisetella. Day 6 - SUCUA to GUALACEO. Today the Phragmipedium is day. In addition to the dams that are indispensable for Ekuador's electrical power supply, the sites of Phragmipedium reticulatum and pearcei grow in the running water on the slopes. Locations of Sobralia, Lycaste, Elleanthus, Pleurothallis round off the day. Day 7 - GUALACEO. Today we stay in Gualaceo. You can spend the day relaxing and exploring Ecuagena's huge greenhouse with thousands of different orchids. It is probably the largest collection of Andean orchids in the world. Here you can see your program for preserving the orchids with your own eyes. After lunch, continue to Chordeleg, the Ecuadorian city of silver. In many shops you can admire the art of craftsmanship, and buy cheap souvenirs for those who are at home or for themselves. If you want to stay in the nursery, you can stay here too. Day 8 - GUALACEO to EL PANGUI. The highlight of this day is the location of Phragmipedium besseae. For this we have to go in the southeast direction to the Amazon Basin. Before arriving at El Pangui, we pass another very rich territory, where there is the chance of Telipogon, Epidendrum, Sobralia, Oncidium, Prostechea, Maxillaria and Stelis at the natural site. Day 9 - EL PANGUI. In the morning, visit the 3rd nursery of Ecuagenera. Here the tropical warm orchids are cultivated. For the afternoon the visit of the Condor Binational Reserve Park between Ecuador and Peru is planned. This area is known for its rare, endemic species. Scuticaria salesiana. Day 10 - EL PANGUI to LOJA. Today is one of the highlights of the tour. The trail takes us through the Podocarpus National Park, along Zamora Chinchipe; Next to a stunning waterfall, there are over 560 bird species and 63 orchid species. Rodriguezia, Epidendrum, Masdevallia and many others can be found. After lunch we return to the Andes, where Masdevallia, Sobralia, Eriopsis, Epidendrum, Maxillaria, Prostechea are waiting for them. Day 11 - LOJA to GUALACEO. With a visit to Loja, the "musical and cultural capital of Ekuador", the day begins for them. Attention should be paid to the numerous country-specific dishes and sweets. On the way back to Gualaceo we will stop several times to find Fernandezia, Telipogon, Cyrtochilum, Oncidium, Maxillaria, Myoxanthus and Epidendrum. Day 12 - GUALACEO to GUAYAQUIL. After a tour of the city through Cuenca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the visit of the production of Panama hats, the visit of art markets in the morning, you drive back over the Andes 4,000m up to Guayaquil. On the way we stop for those who can still see orchids to find Epidendrum, Odontoglossum and Masdevallia. When we take them to the hotel or airport, we say good bye to you. ORCHIDACEAE JUSS.

MARK WHITTEN1,2, KURT M. NEUBIG1 & N. H. WILLIAMS1 1Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida Gainesville, FL 32611-7800 USA 2Corresponding author: [email protected] ABSTRACT. Relationships among all subtribes of Neotropical Cymbidieae (Orchidaceae) were estimated using combined matK/ycf1 plastid sequence data for 289 taxa. The matrix was analyzed using RAxML. Bootstrap (BS) analyses yield 100% BS support for all subtribes except Stanhopeinae (87%). Generic relationships within subtribes are highly resolved and are generally congruent with those presented in previous studies and as summarized in Genera Orchidacearum. Relationships among subtribes are largely unresolved. The Szlachetko generic classification of Maxillariinae is not supported. A new combination is made for Maxillaria cacaoensis J.T.Atwood in Camaridium. KEY WORDS: Orchidaceae, Cymbidieae, Maxillariinae, matK, ycf1, phylogenetics, Camaridium, Maxillaria cacaoensis, Vargasiella Cymbidieae include many of the showiest align nrITS sequences across the entire tribe was Neotropical epiphytic orchids and an unparalleled unrealistic due to high levels of sequence divergence, diversity in floral rewards and pollination systems. and instead to concentrate our efforts on assembling Many researchers have posed questions such as a larger plastid data set based on two regions (matK “How many times and when has male euglossine and ycf1) that are among the most variable plastid bee pollination evolved?”(Ramírez et al. 2011), or exon regions and can be aligned with minimal “How many times have oil-reward flowers evolved?” ambiguity across broad taxonomic spans.

Palavras-chave: Biodiversidade, campos rupestres, conservação, riqueza específi ca, teste de Mantel ABSTRACT (Orchidaceae from Serra Negra and Serra do Funil, Rio Preto, Minas Gerais, and fl oristic similarity between grassland and forest formations of Brazil).

  • The Specific DNA Barcodes Based on Chloroplast Genes for Species
www.nature.com/scientificreports OPEN The specifc DNA barcodes based on chloroplast genes for species identifcation of Orchidaceae plants Huili Li1,2, Wenjun Xiao1,2, Tie Tong1, Yongliang Li1, Meng Zhang1, Xiaoxia Lin1, Xiaoxiao Zou1, Qun Wu1 & Xinhong Guo1* DNA barcoding is currently an efective and widely used tool that enables rapid and accurate identifcation of plant species. The Orchidaceae is the second largest family of fowering plants, with more than 700 genera and 20,000 species distributed nearly worldwide. The accurate identifcation of Orchids not only contributes to the safe utilization of these plants, but also it is essential to the protection and utilization of germplasm resources. In this study, the DNA barcoding of 4 chloroplast genes (matK, rbcL, ndhF and ycf1) were used to provide theoretical basis for species identifcation, germplasm conservation and innovative utilization of orchids. By comparing the nucleotide replacement saturation of the single or combined sequences among the 4 genes, we found that these sequences reached a saturation state and were suitable for phylogenetic relationship analysis. The phylogenetic analyses based on genetic distance indicated that ndhF and ycf1 sequences were competent to identifcation at genus and species level of orchids in a single gene. In the combined sequences, matK + ycf1 and ndhF + ycf1 were qualifed for identifcation at the genera and species levels, suggesting the potential roles of ndhF, ycf1, matK + ycf1 and ndhF + ycf1 as candidate barcodes for orchids. Based on the SNP sites, candidate genes were used to obtain the specifc barcode of orchid plant species and generated the corresponding DNA QR code ID card that could be immediately recognized by electronic devices.
