[email protected] ABSTRACT: The aim of this study is that students are not only intelligent in their knowledge, but they must also have a praiseworthy character based on the values of Sufism. This research is a qualitative study, meaning that the data that has been obtained is presented in the form of words and not in the form of statistics. Research data obtained from observations, interviews, and documentation.There are three components of data analysis in this study, namely: data reduction, data presentation, verification and data checking.The results of the study showed that Islamic education can be based on the strengthening of religious character based on Sufism which has a mission to achieve the pleasure of Allah SWT. Among the characters of the students in the Sufism-based madrasah are the rituals of praying, saluting, performing the prayer of dhuha, diligently praying, reciting the Qur'an, diligently meditating and meditating, diligent mujahadah and recitation.
