2 NEWSLETTER 703 Editors report

A new decade has arrived, along with it the hopes and promise of new discoveries and advancements in technology that will shape the way we live our lives in this very modern era.

Manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley have proven in the later part of the past decade that they remain at the forefront of personal transport innovation as seen by the Experimental Prototypes each brand has delivered. As enthusiasts we keep a keen eye on these two prolific marques for the next chapter that will define them and the motoring public. It is obvious that the way forward for the motoring industry is to provide solutions to personal transport such as autonomous vehicles that have as low an impact on the environment as humanly possible. This may be still a way of from being achieved in a pure sense however the pace at which humanity is delivering breakthroughs in technology continues to astound.

My preference is to be engaged with the vehicle of which I am driving, not merely an occupant in a soulless conveyance. The age of oil, grease, fuel and all the other elements that give our cars character is rapidly disappearing but for clubs like our one that encourage the use of our vehicles on regular events both locally and around the country. I do hope that in the years to come that we will still be able to enjoy touring in these magnificent motor cars that so often bring delight to ownership and to those who observe them from near and afar.

I trust you will enjoy this first newsletter for 2020, the events that are upcoming and make many more happy memories. Happy Editors Snap of three very motoring and happy new decade! handsome Bentleys
