We have carried out two student experiments on the ISS. The first experiment was to investigate whether slime mould would grow in 3D in the microgravity of space. Slime mould has amazing memory capacity is and can be used to solve complex mapping problems.

This experiment revealed that mould grows more vigorously in space than on Earth. The second experiment, investigated the effectiveness of antibiotics in space.

Astronaut Koichi Wakata performing The results indicate that antibiotics are more effective in our experiment in space, aboard the microgravity. International Space Station. 8 further Mission Discovery student experiments will be launched to the Space Station in June aboard the rocket SpaceX CRS-7.
