PLEASE JOIN Prairie Family Center for a community conversation about Violence Against Indigenous Womxn*: , Colonialism, and Health Equity

Featured Speaker (pre-recorded): Taté Walker Wednesday, February 27, 2019

We invite you to join us for a pre-recorded talk by Taté Walker (they, them) and facilitated community conversation about sexism and health equity.

Indigenous womxn* face extreme marginalization at the crossroads of sex, gender and race, which is tied to and intensified by the history and ongoing impact of colonialism. The result? The U.S. murder rate of Indigenous womxn is up to 10 times the national average; 1 in 3 Indigenous womxn will be sexually assaulted; and domestic violence rates are 7 times higher for Indigenous womxn. Come learn more about the health inequities faced by Indigenous womxn in particular, and how sexism is a key health equity issue overall.
