Data Sheet Highlights 100 GbE QSFP ESR4 • Provides high system reliability based on rigorous qualification and certification testing Optical Transceiver • Leverages unique design parameters Optimized, Certified Optical Transceivers for Extending to provide the highest performance with industry-leading Extreme Service Provider and Data Center Networks solutions to support business continuity and disaster recovery Today’s service provider and enterprise data center networking • Helps eliminate issues resulting environments are undergoing an infrastructure transformation, from unexpected design changes, requiring higher speeds, greater scalability, and higher levels of providing ongoing end-to- performance and reliability to better meet the demands of business. As end compatibility speed and performance needs increase, optical transceivers have become an integral part of overall system design. However, transceiver design margins and parameters vary widely and can be the difference between an optimized, highly reliable network, and incompatibility issues that drive up support costs. The Extreme® 100 GbE QSFP ESR4 optical transceiver is optimized to fully leverage the Extreme SLX Series of switches and routers with 100 Gbps capabilities. Together, these optical transceivers provide state- of-the-art performance and help IT organizations achieve new levels of infrastructure consolidation while expanding the capabilities of their applications and services. End-to-End Compatibility and Reliability The Extreme 100 GbE QSFP ESR4 optical transceiver supports highly reliable operations in service provider and data center networks, and is optimized for Extreme SLX Switching and routing platforms. It undergoes rigorous qualification and certification testing to provide an end-to-end solution that is easier to maintain— helping improve the availability of data center networks supporting mission critical applications. Key Features The Extreme 100 GbE QSFP ESR4 is a four-channel, pluggable, multimode, fiber-optic QSFP28 transceiver for 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) applications. This transceiver is a high-performance module for short-range, multi-lane data communication and interconnect applications. It integrates four data lanes in each direction with each lane operating at 25.78125 Gbps, giving an aggregated bandwidth of 103.125 Gbps. It enables optical interoperability up to 300 meters over an 8-fiber (or 12-fiber) MPO optical multimode OM4 cable. The pull tab facilitates the easy insertion and extraction of these transceivers in high-density environment. WWW.EXTREMENETWORKS.COM 1 These modules are designed to operate over multimode Maximizing Investments fiber systems using a nominal wavelength of 850 nm. To help optimize technology investments, Extreme and Compliant with 100 GbE electrical and optical specifications its partners offer complete solutions that include of 802.3 bm (Annex 83E CAUI-4 with Clause 91 KR-FEC, professional services, technical support, and education.
