Juliana and Larissa are the fastest women’s team to reach the $500,000 in history. The pair has a 161-35 FIVB career match mark together, including 27-4 record this season with three losses to Chinese teams and one to May-Treanor and Walsh. The $409,750 earnings for Juliana and Larissa in 2005 was a SWATCH-FIVB World Tour single-season record for both men and women breaking the previous mark of $332,000 by Emanuel Rego and ZeMarco deMelo of Brazil in 1996. Since 1995 on the SWATCH-FIVB World Tour, Adriana and Shelda have a 534-110 match mark together, including 18-8 this season. Adriana and Shelda captured the silver medal in both the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. Adriana and Shelda posted podium finishes at four of the last five FIVB World Championships, including gold medals in 1999 and 2001, silver medal in 2003 and bronze medal in 1997. The Brazilians were fifth at the 2005 worlds in June at Berlin. Adriana and Shelda have won six of the last nine SWATCH-FIVB World Tour season point’s title. The pair had won five-straight season point’s titles (1997-2001) and ranks No. 1 in career FIVB earnings together ($2,033,315). The pair also won the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Canada. Pohl and Rau are playing in their 56th SWATCH-FIVB World Tour event together. This is their second SWATCH-FIVB World Tour “final four” with a bronze medal last year in the Itallian Open where they defeated Adriana and Shelda in the third-place match at Milan. Pohl and Rau rank 13th in career SWATCH team earnings ($319,310) and have posted a 129-107 FIVB match mark together. Fifth-place finishers at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, Pohl and Rau have won two of the three European Tour events this season with gold medals in Hamburg and Moscow to assume the top spot in the CEV rankings. The Germans are 13-2 on the European Tour this season with $19,250 in winnings. Pohl and Rau also captured on the 2003 European Championships and placed third last year. While Pohl has played with three different partners and starting playing in 1998 on the SWATCH circuit, Pohl has played 56 of her 57 events with Pohl since 2000. Ana Paula, who competed in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games with Sandra Pires where they placed fifth after being eliminated by Adriana and Shelda 21-15, 13-21 and 13-15, ranks 14th in career SWATCH earnings ($360,428) with seven gold medals, 20 podium placements and now 24 “final four” finishes.Leila is 56th in career FIVB winnings ($107,598) with all four of her “final four” finishes with Ana Paula. A Sydney 2000 Indoor Volleyball bronze medallist for Brazil, Leila competed on the SWATCH- FIVB World Tour with Sandra Pires (2002) and Monica Rodrigues (2003) with her best finishes being fifths with both partners. On the Brazilian domestic tour this season, Leila and Ana Paula have compiled a 18-8 mark with two seconds in five starts.
