2019-2020 Dance Dimensions Dress Code Coordinating Revolution Dancewear NEW selection with various styles and colors! Thank you in advance for abiding by our dress code. Dance is a discipline, and like any sport participants must dress in proper gear. In order to participate in classes it is required that students arrive in the proper dance attire, with appropriate hair style, and necessary shoes. Students ages 3-6 (Early Childhood Program/ Primary Ballet/ Tap Basics) are to wear the required Revolution Dancewear uniforms for class. This keeps the students focused on their dancing and not distracted by various outfits. For dancers ages 7 and up we recommend and prefer that you purchase all necessary dance attire through us. Street clothes are not permitted. Teachers need to be able to see that the student’s alignment is correct; therefore for the dancer’s safety the teacher has the authority to have the student watch class if they are not dressed appropriately. Early Childhood Program: ages 3-4 required items: Hair: please pull back hair away from the face in a ponytail, braids, or bun. Short hair should be secured back from the face with hair clips. Tights: footed Revolution prima pink Note: off brands of tights come in odd colors and snag/ run easily.) * No underwear should be worn. They stick out or bunch. Tights have a liner to replace underwear. Nude leotards are also a great replacement for undergarments. They are needed for the recital. Students may wear the Revolution light blue or soft lilac color leotards in addition to pink and black. A: about $70 and up for leotard, tights, skirt & shoes from Revolution Q: What’s it going to cost for the mini movers jazz outfit? A: about $81 and up for biketard, tights & shoes from Revolution Ballet Classes: (ages 7 and up) Hair: Buns are required for level 1B ballet and up. Short hair should be secured back from the face with hair clips. Please no pony-tails. Tights: Revolution Prima Pink Footed or Convertible (optional- hole in bottom for ages 8 and up) *Revolution Dancewear prima pink tights are required for all ballet classes. Shoes: Revolution Stretch Ballet Slippers *Please, no full sole ballet shoes. Leotards: Students may wear any solid color dance leotard. The cap sleeve, tank, or strappy back leotards are best for youth age dancers. *Optional-Nude Camisole Leotard: great in place of undergarments! Wrap Skirt- black or complementary color to match leotard; *black action shorts permitted in Ballet 3 and up Q: What’s it going to cost for a ballet outfit? A: Youth $66 and up/ adult $74 and up depending upon selection from Revolution Jazz Classes: Hair: please pull back hair from face in a ponytail, braids, or bun. Short hair should be secured back from the face with hair clips. Leotards: Students may wear any solid color dance leotard. *Optional-Nude Camisole Leotard: great in place of undergarments! Any solid color leotard is fine. No extra decorations please. *Leotards should fully cover torso (modesty please). A one piece biketard (leotard and shorts in 1) is a price saving option. Black Stretch Jazz Boot is best. Jazz Bottoms- solid black only please. Options: boy shorts (great all year), leggings (great chilly nights), bootcut pants *Tights (prima pink or tan) are recommended to be worn under pants. Optional- Nude Camisole Leotard: great in place of undergarments. *Street clothes, such as sweat pants, are not permitted. Q: What’s it going to cost for a jazz outfit? A: adult sizes $78 and up depending upon selection from Revolution Tap Classes: Hair- should be pulled back from face in a ponytail, braids, or bun. Pink, navy, hunter green, purple, black, light blue, burgundy and more are available through Revolution dancewear & Theatricals. *Optional- Nude Camisole Leotard: great in place of undergarments! Shoes: Black Oxford Tap Shoe (no shiny patent leather shoes please) For beginner-intermediate level Revolution’s: Intro JT shoe is requested. Students taking multiple tap classes or working at the intermediate/adv. Level should upgrade to the premium tap shoe Solid Black Jazz Shorts/Pants Socks or Tights Optional- Footed or Convertible (hole in bottom) Q: What’s it going to cost for a tap outfit? A: adult sizes $70 and up depending upon selection from Revolution Modern Classes: Hair should be pulled back from face in a ponytail, braids, or bun. Tights: Modern dancers need footless tights. Contemporary socks may be purchased through the studio. Outfit please follow jazz list. Hip Hop Classes: Outfit: Hip Hop dancers are to dress in comfortable clothes suitable for moving. Girls are to wear a leotard or sports bra under tops. Shoes: Hip Hop is to wear jazz sneakers (available through Revolution Dancewear). Cost for shoes: $50 *Hip hop dancers no street shoes are allowed in the studio. Please do not travel to and from class in the jazz sneakers as we do not want street dirt carried into the studio.
