Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino said the illegal hemp were seized from suspects identified as Jay Raymundo Farala, 22 years old; Joshua Brylle Buenavenida dela Paz, 23, student of Photography and Film Schooling, both residents of Parang, Marikina City; Eliterio Celada Pazon Jr., 25, a freelance video editor, resident of Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan; and the two alleged minors who are residents of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City. Farala and dela Paz were arrested at around 8:00 AM on August 15, 2019 by joint elements of PDEA Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA RO- CAR) under the supervision of Director Edgar S. Apalla and local police in Rising Sun Bus Terminal, Poblacion Bontoc, Mountain Province. Confiscated during the operation was one back pack containing four pieces in tubular form of dried marijuana, weighing more or less 12,950 grams with an estimated value of Php1,554,000.00. Meanwhile, a Rising Sun Bus line was flagged down by the operating units at around 7:30 AM along national road in Sitio Paling, Barangay Lagan, Sabangan, Mountain Province upon receiving a tip from an informant that led to the rescue of the two alleged minors, who yielded two back packs containing four bricks of suspected marijuana, and one plastic container containing dried marijuana leaves, weighing more or less 4,000 grams, with an estimated value of Php480,000.00. Another tip from an informant was received at around 6:30 AM on August 16, 2019 that a motorcycle rider unloaded and abandoned a suspicious yellow sack in a roadside along Sitio Cheka-a, Barangay Bontoc Ili, Bontoc, Mountain Province. The operatives immediately verified the report, resulting in the discovery of the sack containing four bricks of marijuana, and two tubular formed marijuana with fruiting tops wrapped in transparent cling wrappers weighing more or less 5,629 grams, with an estimated value of Php675,480.00. International Journal of Advanced Research in ISSN: 2278-6236 Management and Social Sciences Impact Factor: 6.284 INAYAN: THE TENET FOR PEACE AMONG IGOROTS Rhonda Vail G. Leyaley* Abstract: This research study was conducted to determine the meaning of Inayan and how this principle is used by the Igorots as a peaceful means of solving issues that involves untoward killings, accidents, theft and land grabbing. The descriptive method was used in this study. Key informants were interviewed using a prepared questionnaire. Foremost, the meaning of Inayan among Igorots is, it is the summary of the Ten Commandments. For more peaceful means, they’d rather do the rituals like the “Daw-es” to appease their pain and anger. This is letting the Supreme Being which they call Kabunyan take the course of action in “punishing” those who have committed wrong towards them. It is recommended that the principles of Inayan be disseminated to the younger generation through the curriculum; that the practices and rituals will be fully documented to be used as references; and to develop instructional materials that will advocate the principle of Inayan; Keywords: Inayan, Peace, Igorots, Rituals, Kankanaey *Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga Vol. 5 | No. 2 | February 2016 www.garph.co.uk IJARMSS | 239 International Journal of Advanced Research in ISSN: 2278-6236 Management and Social Sciences Impact Factor: 6.284 I. INTRODUCTION In a society where tribal conflicts are very evident, a group of individuals has a very distinguishable practice in maintaining the culture of peace among themselves. They are the Igorots. The Cordillera region of Northern Philippines is the ancestral domain of the Igorots.

  • Father Hubert Boumans (1914-1993): “Father Ever Blasting”
Father Hubert Boumans (1914-1993): “Father Ever Blasting” The CICM “Elenchus Defunctorum” of 2015 mentions the names of 2,342 deceased confreres. Some of them died very young. Two became more than one hundred years old. Among them we have numerous pioneers, fine scholars, and outstanding bishops. Many of them were also generous brothers and priests who never made it to Wikipedia or Facebook. About one confrere belonging to this last group, namely father Hubert Boumans, I will write a few lines. From the end of October 1983 up to the end of April 1988, I was a missionary in Natonin, Mountain Province, Philippines, and a distant neighbor of father Hubert Boumans who was the rector of the mission of Barlig. Father Boumans was born in Ubachsberg, municipality of Voerendaal, Limburg, the Netherlands, on February 10, 1914. At the minor seminary of Sparrendaal, he completed his humanities. He entered the novitiate in 1935, and was dreaming of being a missionary in China. He pronounced his first vows on August 8, 1936. After having finished his philosophical studies and three years of theology, he was ordained a priest on July 25, 1941. The second world war delayed his departure for the Philippines. From August 1944 to April 1946, he was treasurer of the novitiate in the Netherlands. Only on August 9, 1946, was he able to sail for the Pearl of the East. At the end of 1946, he was assigned to Barlig mission which at that time covered also the mission of Natonin. His stay of 41 years in Barlig mission was only interrupted by a four year stay in Dutch Limburg for mission promotion (1955-1959).

While the most advanced technological means to photograph and reproduce this document have been used, the quality is heavily dependent upon the quality of the material submitted. The following explanation of techniques is provided to help you understand markings or notations which may appear on this reproduction. 1.The sign or "target" for pages apparently lacking from the document photographed is "Missing Page(s)". If it was possible to obtain the missing page(s) or section, they are spliced into the film along with adjacent pages. This may have necessitated cutting through an image and duplicating adjacent pages to assure you of complete continuity. 2.
