March 18-25 2018 March 18-25 2018 www.katzjcc.org/film FilmFest 2018 B.indd 1 2/2/18 10:45 AM Welcome to the Festival! As festival organizers we are always searching for new ways to satisfy your movie going experience. Our 13th Annual Cherry Hill Volvo Cars Jewish Film Festival is the most ideal way to share our passion for Judaic movies. The big-screen experience provides an irreplaceable pleasure and opportunity to view these films. Submissions to the Festival are often viewed by our committee members on laptop computers, so we can’t wait for everyone to see the stunning visuals of a film such asAcross the Waters as well as the breathtaking scenery in The Milk Trial and the pleasure of seeing Hedy Lamarr once again, all on the big screen. We are very proud of the 19 films that we have chosen to highlight in this year’s festival. We are fortunate that several guest speakers will be joining us to provide additional insight into the films. They include writers, directors, producers, film stars, film subjects, and local Rabbis. You will get a chance to meet Fleming Meeks who conducted the interview with Hedy Lamarr in Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story, Samantha Elisofon and Brandon Polansky, actors starring in Keep the Change, and Daniel Sorochkin, the writer/director of the short Check Please. Other speakers are listed in the brochure. Of course, a festival like ours can only thrive with community support. We are fortunate to live in a community that enjoys the arts and passionately supports Jewish culture. Special thanks to Cherry Hill Volvo Cars and our other generous sponsors who enable the entire community to laugh, reflect, discover, and learn through enriching entertainment. Join us for this wonderful celebration of Jewish films! Jodi Kaufman Cooper & Melinda Kane Film Festival Co-Chairs 2 FilmFest 2018 B.indd 2 2/2/18 10:45 AM Festival Highlights!
