Capt. Herbert MEYER Section Manager, Flight Crew Training (FS 3.4) Date: 17.09.2014 Letter of Acceptance Airbus A350 – OSD Flight Crew Training This Letter of Acceptance is issued by the EASA Flight Crew Training Section to summarize conclusions of the EASA operational evaluation – flight crew data, of the A350-900. 1. A330 / A350 variant determination and license endorsement EASA evaluated the Airbus A350 aircraft in relation to the Airbus A330. General design and system differences were reviewed and Normal, Abnormal, and Emergency procedures compared for the A330 and the A350. Both aircraft were flown to assess any potential differences in handling qualities. Operator Difference Requirements (ODR) tables were examined and the proposed difference training course from the A330 to the A350 was assessed. The A350 is confirmed as a variant to the A330 aircraft. The license endorsement is established as “A330/350”. Level D differences training (as described in EASA CS-FCD) is required for pilots current and qualified in the A330 when transitioning to the A350. The differences training course proposed by Airbus was successfully completed by the candidate pilots. This course is accepted for A330/350 differences training. 2. Initial A350 type rating training course EASA evaluated the Airbus proposed A350 initial type rating course. This full type rating course is compliant with Part-FCL requirements and is accepted for training of pilots with no previous Airbus experience. The course was successfully completed by the candidate pilots. 3. A320 to A350 Cross Crew Qualification (CCQ) EASA evaluated the Airbus A350 aircraft in relation to the Airbus A320. General design and system differences were reviewed and Normal, Abnormal, and Emergency procedures compared for the A320 and the A350. Both aircraft were flown to assess differences in handling qualities. Operator Difference Requirements (ODR) tables were examined and the proposed reduced type rating training course from the A320 to the A350 was assessed. The CCQ training course proposed by Airbus was successfully completed by the candidate pilots. This course is accepted for A320 to A350 reduced type rating training for pilots qualified and current on the A320. This Letter of Acceptance is issued to support the acceptance of training provided to candidate pilots during the operational evaluation for the introduction of the A350-900 and will be superseded by the Operational Suitability Data (OSD) once completed.
