Airbus was still behind Boeing with 36.2% against 39.2% of the world aircraft fleet. But the crisis that impacted Boeing halving its deliveries, combined with a record year for Airbus, helped to reduce the gap (35.2% vs 39.7% in April 2019). This graph does not take into account the acquisi- tion of the Bombardier CRJ program by Mitsubishi Heavy Industry (in June 2020), same for the air- crafts recently grounded or retired due to Covid-19. Boeing was still ahead with 45.5% of the market, followed by Airbus with 39.2%. The B737-MAX crisis may give the opportunity to Airbus to reduce the gap, as many B737 orders were canceled and some plotted on the Airbus A320. But with the Covid-19 pandemic most of these orders will be at least postponed of several years. Airline Model In Serv. Ord/Opt. Airline Model In Serv. Ord/Opt.
