Not many changes in this region compared to last year (April 2020 vs 2019) proportions stayed quite stable. Boeing was still ahead with 45.5% of the market, followed by Airbus with 39.2%.

The B737-MAX crisis may give the opportunity to Airbus to reduce the gap, as many B737 orders were canceled and some plotted on the Airbus A320.

But with the Covid-19 pandemic most of these orders will be at least postponed of several years.

OUR WEBSITE 12 / 1716 07 / 07 2020 / AIR TRANSPORT TREND BULLETIN LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN Main airlines fleets 04 / 2020 by region

Airbus was still leading the Latin America market with 34.1% of the commercial fleet in April 2020, 27.8% for Boeing.

But in this region the gap did not change a lot bet- ween Airbus and Boeing, the global fleet stagnated.

The best progression was for ATR from 6.7% in April 2019 to 8% in 2020.

Some major airlines encounter difficulties, like Avian- ca Brasil which ceased operation in June 2019.

Airbus registered a lot of new orders early 2020, but some have already been canceled or are menaced since the situation has gotten worse.
