The method used is a case study (case study) and surveys. Respondents retrieval techniques used in this research is a snowball sampling technique. Snowball sampling is a method for identifying, selecting and taking respondents on a network or chain of ongoing relationships, the selection of key informants who were randomly assigned to provide information in accordance with the purpose of research. Analysis of the data used in this research using Likert Scale and Multiple Linear Regression in data processing techniques, the authors use a scale of measurement obtained from the respondents. It is a supporting factor that plays an important role in all sectors of life because the quality of nation life is closely related to the education level. Slameto (2003: 2) states that "learning is a business process carried out by someone to obtain a change in new behavior as a whole as their own experience in interaction with their environment". This opinion is in line with Taufik (2008: 1-2) stating that "civilized humans have at least a common sense about education that education has an important role in human life." Thus, from the two opinions above, it can be inferred that education is a matter that is important for human life and is a supporting factor for the quality of life of the nation. A good nation is born from a good education. Therefore, education is substantial. The most basic level of education is elementary school education (Sekolah Dasar, SD). Children get new learning and experience from the school environment, where they learn about what is around them, which are something that they have never studied before and have not been taught by their parents. Taufik (2008: 18) defines elementary school education as follows: Education in elementary school can be defined as the process of developing the most basic abilities of every student, where each student learns actively because of the encouragement in themselves and the atmosphere that provides convenience for their optimal development. -

The rocky shore of the southern coast of Garut, which is directly adjacent to the Indian Ocean, is strongly influenced by large energy waves. This condition has an impact on marine biota, especially macroalgae. Macroalgae that grow in these waters are macroalgae with high adaptation. The aims of this study were to determine the diversity, adaptation and potency of macroalgae on the rocky shore of the southern coast of Garut, West Java. Observation of macroalgae on the southern coast of Garut was conducted on May 2016. The study was conducted in nine locations, namely Bubujung, Karang Paranje, Santolo Indah, Karang Papak, Taman Manalusu, Cicalobak, Karang Wangi, Ranca Buaya 1 dan Ranca Buaya 2. Macroalgae samples were collected by the transect quadrate method. Parameters measured were species, standing crops biomass and substrates of macroalgae. A total of 44 species (21 genera) of macroalgae have been successfully collected from the southern coast of Garut, West Java. The adaptation of macroalgae on the large energy waves was by morphological changes. There are 13 of 21 genera of macroalgae that were collected which were the economically potential. Hormophysa, Padina, Sargassum and Turbinaria are alginate producers, whereas, Gelidiella and Gracilaria are agarose producers. -

Situation Report #3 Indonesia – FLOODING In BANDUNG DISTRICT 2016 Period 18 March 2016 HIGHLIGHTS . Floods hit large parts of Bandung regency after the water level had dropped. Dayeuhkolot, Baleendah, and Bojongsoang, surrounded by floods and the water level reaches 30-250 cm. Flooding widespread in the district of Rancaengkek and cutting off the Garut - Bandung route. 13 thousand residents affected by flooding still survive in refugee camps. 2 People Died and 3 people missing, 13,000 people displaced. A total of 5,900 families / 24,000 inhabitants affected by the floods. 2 24.000 13.000 35.000 Reported Dead People Affected People Displaced Flooded Houses SITUATION OVERVIEW I.. Floods hit large parts of Bandung regency. Flooding caused by the Citarum River that passes through the region is overflow after heavy rains in an upstream and downstream parts of the river. As a result, three districts in Bandung regency, namely Dayeuhkolot, Baleendah, and Bojongsoang, surrounded by flood and the water level reaches 30-250 centimeters. In addition to the districts, floods also hit the District Rancaekek. Flooding had cut off the highway of Garut and Bandung. More than 13 thousand people affected by the floods, and they still survive in refugee camps. Situation Report #3 FLOODING IN BANDUNG DISTRICT Disaster Management Center Dompet Dhuafa According to data from BPBDs Bandung regency, until now there are 68 evacuation shelter that spread over three districts. Subdistrict Dayeuhkolot is the most affected region by the floods with the number of refugees reached 7671 people. While in Baleendah recorded 4,698 refugees. As in Bojongsoang there were 820 inhabitants displaced. -

Raya Bandung Sumedang Km 21 Jatinangor, Sumedang 45363, Indonesia Email: [email protected] Abstract This study is an exploratory research aims to find and know about a phenomenon by exploration. Therefore, the approach used in this study is ethnographic approach, an empirical and theoretical approach to get description and deep analysis about a culture based on field study. From the sustainable interviews and confirmation about field research with some community leaders in Cipatujah district, Tasikmalaya regency and in Santolo Pameungpeuk beach, Garut regency; it is found that Ethnomathematics is still widely used by Sundanese people especially in rural areas: the use of measurement units, mathematical modeling, and the use of clock symbols. The results of this study can be useful for Sundanese people and the government of West Java in education, cultural services, and tourism. Keywords: Ethnomathematics, Unit Calculation, Modeling, Symbolic Time Abstrak Pada penelitian ini metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksploratif, merupakan penelitian penggalian, untuk menemukan dan mengetahui suatu gejala atau peristiwa dengan melakukan penjajakan terhadap gejala tersebut, dan pendekatan etnografi, merupakan pendekatan empiris dan teoritis, bertujuan mendapatkan deskripsi dan analisis mendalam tentang kebudayaan berdasarkan penelitian lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, etnomatematika masih banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Sunda, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan, penggunaan satuan ukuran, pemodelan matematika, dan penggunaan jam simbolik masih banyak digunakan di masyarakat pedesaan. Hal ini diperoleh dengan melakukan wawancara berkesinambungan dan verifikasi hasil penelitian dengan beberapa tokoh masyarakat di Kecamatan Cipatujah kabupaten Tasikmalaya, dan tokoh masyakat di pantai Santolo kecamatan Pameungpeuk kabupaten Garut. -

Reports on fieldworks of damaged area caused by September 2, 2009 Mw 7.0 Tasikmalaya Earthquake, Indonesia Andri Dian Nugraha, Kyoto University The earthquake occurred on September 2, 2009, at 14.55 PM local time in the southern part of West Java Indonesia with magnitude of 7.0 (Mw) and depth of 46.2 km determined by USGS (Fig 1 and 2). This event has reverse fault faulting with striking NE-SW direction. In the southern part of Java, the oceanic India-Australia plate subducts North-Northeastward beneath Sunda plate with a relative velocity about 60 cm/year. In order to investigate and understanding the effect of this event, We conducted fieldworks in the damaged area. We conducted survey from September 9, 2009 up to September 16, 2009. First, before go to the fieldworks We visited Bandung Institute of technology (ITB) to discuss about this event with Prof Sri Widiyantoro (Geophysics Group ITB), Afnimar PhD (Geophysic Group ITB), and Dr Irwan Meilano (Geodesy Group ITB). Bandung-Sumedang Km.21 Jatinangor Sumedang 45363 Jawa Barat e-mail : [email protected] Abstrak Sapi pesisir Garut Selatan merupakan sapi lokal yang khas dengan berbagai sifat kualitatif dan kuantitaif yang dimiliki mampu manjadi sumber pandapatan andalan masyarakat Garut Selatan. Namun perhatian peternak terhadap mutu genetik untuk meningkatkan kualitas bibit masih kurang. Atas dasar ini peneliti tertarik untuk melakukan pengkajian aspek sosial yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan sikap peternak terhadap kegiatan peningkatan mutu genetik ternak dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menjadi kendala dalam kegiatan tersebut. Penelitian telah dilakukan di kelompok Peternak Sapi Pasir Pogor Kecamatan Pameungpeuk selama enam bulan dari 15 Maret sampai 16 Agustus 2009. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mikro kualitatif menggunakan PRA (participatory rural appraisal) dan Makro kuantitatif menggunakan metode survey formal pada anggota kelompok Peternak Sapi Pasir Pogor sebanyak 50 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap peternak terhadap kegiatan peningkatan mutu genetik ternak pada umumnya belum mendukung baik sebelum maupun sesudah dilakukan introduksi pengetahuan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan data kognisi peternak terhadap kegiatan peningkatan mutu genetik 20% pengetahuan tinggi, 50% pengetahuan cukup dan 30% pengetahuan rendah dan meningkat menjadi 25% pengetahuan tinggi, 45% pengetahuan cukup dan 30% pengetahuan rendah , data afeksi peternak terhadap kegiatan peningkatan mutu genetik ternak 30% setuju, 35% kurang setuju dan 35% tidak setuju dan meningkat menjadi 35% setuju, 30% kurang setuju dan 35% tidak setuju.
