His influence as a teacher and a role model to young musicians has been as extraordinary as the way in which he has extended the reach of the Chapel’s music through recording, broadcasting and touring. As the College makes this recording of the Centenary Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols available, we once again salute Sir Stephen’s extraordinary achievements and pay tribute to the qualities of musicianship, leadership, commitment and dedication that lie behind all that he has given, and all that we have so gratefully received.

Centre for Cultural Policy Research Department of Theatre, Film and Television University of Glasgow Glasgow G12 8QQ December 2008 © Caitriona Noonan, 2008 Abstract This thesis examines the way in which media professionals negotiate the occupational challenges related to television and radio production. It has used the subject of religion and its treatment within the BBC as a microcosm to unpack some of the dilemmas of contemporary broadcasting. In recent years religious programmes have evolved in both form and content leading to what some observers claim is a “renaissance” in religious broadcasting. However, any claims of a renaissance have to be balanced against the complex institutional and commercial constraints that challenge its long-term viability. This research finds that despite the BBC’s public commitment to covering a religious brief, producers in this style of programming are subject to many of the same competitive forces as those in other areas of production. Furthermore those producers who work in-house within the BBC’s Department of Religion and Ethics believe that in practice they are being increasingly undermined through the internal culture of the Corporation and the strategic decisions it has adopted. This is not an intentional snub by the BBC but a product of the pressure the Corporation finds itself under in an increasingly competitive broadcasting ecology, hence the removal of the protection once afforded to both the department and the output.

    GUNSMOKE TV CAST AND DETAILS Premiered: September 10, 1955, on CBS Rating: TV-PG Premise: This landmark adult Western centered on Marshal Matt Dillon of Dodge City. John Wayne turned down the lead, suggesting James Arness (who remained for its entire run). Originating on radio (with William Conrad as Dillon), it moved to TV in September 1955. Its popularity spawned a number of copycats, but none would enjoy the longevity (and few the consistent quality) of this classic. Airing for 20 years, it's TV's longest running prime-time drama (a record that `Law & Order' is currently chasing). As previously reported, our Tyler Technologies “Go Live date” is Monday, June 10, 2019. We have been working with Tyler on our new bill format in an effort to make the bill easier for our customers to read. Our Customer Service Department had a booth at the Potato Festival, during which they spoke with several hundred people and displayed the new billing layout. We will be sending a flyer with your first bill, but you can also take a look at the layout now from the link on our website by clicking here. 2. On Tuesday, I was in Raleigh attending the Local Government Commission’s meeting. One of the items included of their agenda was the approval of debt financing for the new Senior Citizens’ Center. After very little discussion, the LGC approved our application. With their approval, the City can now move forward with the purchase of The Daily Advance building. Working with our lender for the project, BB&T, we have tentatively approved closing on the building on June 14, 2019. City staff will work with County staff to hold a brief ceremony after the deed is executed and given to the City. The City can now retain the architectural firm of JKF to do the necessary design work to adapt the building for use as a senior center. A contract for their service will be on the June 10, 2019 agenda for the City Council’s consideration.
