With each of the 3300 Challenger SRT Demons spoken for, Dodge needed to leverage its 808- hp asset (840 on race gas) in order to ensure the nation’s strategic tire reserve remained on notice.     The History of The DeLorean DMC-12 Delorean Introduction The DeLorean DMC-12 is a two-seater sports car that was manufactured by the DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) for the US market from 1981 to 1982. It featured gull-wing doors with a fiberglass underbody to which non-structural brushed stainless steel panels were affixed. Manufactured in Northern Ireland it is most commonly known simply as the DeLorean, as it was the only model ever produced by the company. The first prototype appeared in March 1976, and production officially began in 1981 (with the first DMC-12 rolling off the production line on January 21) at the DMC factory in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. Over nine thousand DMC-12s were made before production stopped in December 1982. Today, about 6,500 DeLorean Motor Cars are believed to still exist. It is perhaps best remembered when it shot to worldwide fame in the Back to the Future movie trilogy starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd. The car was transformed into a time machine by the eccentric scientist Doctor Emmett L. Brown - the company had ceased to exist before the first movie was ever made in 1985. DeLorean History In October 1976, the first prototype DeLorean DMC-12 was completed by William T. Collins chief engineer and designer (formerly chief engineer at Pontiac). Originally, the car's rear- mounted power plant was to be a Citroën Wankel rotary engine, but was replaced with a French-designed and produced PRV (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) fuel injected V-6 because of the poor fuel economy from the rotary engine, an important issue at a time of world-wide fuel shortages.

    Introduction to R&C Database Compilation & Index I have a long history and fondness for Rod & Custom magazine. This is the first magazine I purchased at age 10, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I often refer back to my collection, but find it hard to quickly lay my hands on a given article. This is for fellow HAMB members who share a love for this little magazine. This Index covers Rod & Custom Magazine from May 1953 through May 1974. I stopped at 1974 since R&C went out of print then. R&C was restarted in December 1988 and lasted until October 2014. This index is created for general reference, technical reference, research, tracing automobile histories, and genealogy. I have attempted to use a consistent categorization or article grouping scheme across all 20+ years, even though editors or previous compilations may not have used this convention. This index contains the following specific information: Title of each article along with a descriptive supplement such as club affiliation, noted customizers, past owners, professions, etc. The author’s and/or photographer’s name where space allowed. Featured vehicle year, make, model, & engine and/or engine displacement where available or where space allowed. Vehicle owner name, city and state. WILLIAMSON A Research Paper Submitted to the Department of Geography in Fulfilment of the Requirements of Geography 4C6 McMaster University April 1991 ABSTRACT This research paper investigates the factors on business failure in the Maritime region of Canada via a sample study of Bricklin Canada Ltd. This sample illustrates· the effects of regionalism and geographic location on the manufacturing industry. This company's failure will be examined as how it arose from reasons including geographic isolation, regional disparities, externalities, scale economies and external forces. A study of this particular industrial failure will lend insights regarding the needs of future regional policy. Although businesses from these marginalized regions of Canada have realized success, there are still a great many steps yet to take.     “The Schuchardt’s Last Show” The Schuchardt Collection Auction Who would have thought that one ingenious idea would change the course of history and man. That simple combustion engine started the industrial revolution and changed our social lives forever. From that moment on we became a nation on the move. The automobile let us travel to new and wonderful places and made the world a smaller place. Horses were replaced by horsepower and started many changes to come. There were many ideas for the new automobile, but one man, Henry Ford, started the mass produced Vehicles and allowed the World to become mobile. He developed many of the early Letter Series and then came the Model T Ford. Les Schuchard was one of the men that fell under the spell of the new transportation. Every since he was a kid, he marveled at this fabulous new machine. Les Schuchard knew the area and all the farmers while working for the Black Hills Power Company. One of his first vehicles that he bought was a 1923 Ford Model T. He bought it from a farmer and this started his collecting. Les Also bought some Gold Claims in the Black Hills and with a lot of hard work, soon the claims started to pay off some. This allowed him to pursue his dream of collecting those fabulous vehicles he read about and grew up with. He married the love of his wife Delores and they started their family. They settled in Spearfish, South Dakota and a home near Spearfish Creek. Delores soon also enjoyed the vehicles and they spent many trips chasing for vehicles all over the U.S.
