Sheri 2 Club Census Santa Anita A’s Car Census Results We have 120 “Family Unit” members in our club. Of that Santa Anita A’s Car Census number, we had 48 respond to the survey. These numbers reflect what was reported, not our entire club. Included in this report is a summary of the information received from 48 of our 120 club members. Number of Model A’s owned by members: The award for the oldest car in our club goes to Mark and 27 own only one Model A Lisa Henzel who own a 1928 Phaeton Model 35A with a serial 9 own 2 Model A’s number of 115690. 5 own 3 Model A’s We have determined that we have a tie for the members 1 own 4 Model A’s who have the newest Model A cars in the club - Chuck and 2 own 5 Model A’s Myriam Davies, and Bryan and Wendy Thompson.     Introduction to R&C Database Compilation & Index I have a long history and fondness for Rod & Custom magazine. This is the first magazine I purchased at age 10, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I often refer back to my collection, but find it hard to quickly lay my hands on a given article. This is for fellow HAMB members who share a love for this little magazine. This Index covers Rod & Custom Magazine from May 1953 through May 1974. I stopped at 1974 since R&C went out of print then. R&C was restarted in December 1988 and lasted until October 2014. This index is created for general reference, technical reference, research, tracing automobile histories, and genealogy. I have attempted to use a consistent categorization or article grouping scheme across all 20+ years, even though editors or previous compilations may not have used this convention. This index contains the following specific information: Title of each article along with a descriptive supplement such as club affiliation, noted customizers, past owners, professions, etc. The author’s and/or photographer’s name where space allowed. Featured vehicle year, make, model, & engine and/or engine displacement where available or where space allowed. Vehicle owner name, city and state. Where the country is other than the United States, I listed the country Product manufacturer name, city and state. Address may be included if space allowed. The month and page number of each feature article or photograph. The index is sorted by year, and a title at the top of each page indicates which year.

    “The Schuchardt’s Last Show” The Schuchardt Collection Auction Who would have thought that one ingenious idea would change the course of history and man. That simple combustion engine started the industrial revolution and changed our social lives forever. From that moment on we became a nation on the move. The automobile let us travel to new and wonderful places and made the world a smaller place. Horses were replaced by horsepower and started many changes to come. There were many ideas for the new automobile, but one man, Henry Ford, started the mass produced Vehicles and allowed the World to become mobile. He developed many of the early Letter Series and then came the Model T Ford. Les Schuchard was one of the men that fell under the spell of the new transportation. Every since he was a kid, he marveled at this fabulous new machine. Les Schuchard knew the area and all the farmers while working for the Black Hills Power Company. One of his first vehicles that he bought was a 1923 Ford Model T. He bought it from a farmer and this started his collecting. Les Also bought some Gold Claims in the Black Hills and with a lot of hard work, soon the claims started to pay off some. This allowed him to pursue his dream of collecting those fabulous vehicles he read about and grew up with. He married the love of his wife Delores and they started their family. They settled in Spearfish, South Dakota and a home near Spearfish Creek. Delores soon also enjoyed the vehicles and they spent many trips chasing for vehicles all over the U.S.

    1 Model a Ford Passenger Body Introduction Dates

    1 MODEL A FORD PASSENGER BODY INTRODUCTION DATES AND PRODUCTION DATA AS OF MARCH 26, 2010 By Steve C. Plucker Walla Walla, Washington The following survey represents the major production years for the Model A Ford “passenger” vehicles only. It does not include the Model A Ford “commercial” vehicles or the Model AA Ford trucks. This will be presented at another time. It also does not include those Model A and AA Fords that were produced “after” the main production period was over at the end of 1931. Ford reports tell us that the Model A/AA Ford was also produced, using up left-over parts, from 1932 through 1936. That to would be an interesting survey. The data used for the production figures were taken directly from original Ford data provided by the Benson Ford Research Center (Ford Archives) in Dearborn, MI. These are referred to by Ford as “Assembly Record Types” and reflect the years 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930 and 1931. These can be found in “Acc. 622, file: World Production, 1903-1943”. The 1927 production figures were provided by a chart in “Henry’s Fabulous Model A” by Leslie Henry from which those figures were also provided by the Ford Archives as listed on the 1927 Assembly Record Types. The “Grand Total” of these figures were also on the 1928 assembly records. No known passenger cars or trucks, were assembled at any Foreign assembly plants during 1927. However, overall, there are some mistakes that were made when Henry produced his chart as some of the figures do not match (BUT most do) those for which are represented on the “Assembly Record Types” as seen in the following charts describing the “Domestic (USA) Total” production.

The beginnings for Brookville Roadster were laid over forty years ago much like the start of other street rodding businesses. Ray Gollahon was just trying to support his own car hobby and make some sheet metal parts needed to restore his own car. As a ca- reer metal worker and an avid Model A and ‘32 enthusiast it was a natural start. The first year, at a 1972 swap meet event he and his wife Donna sold out all of their patch panels and components the first day. After working many nights and weekends in their own garage, the success of the metal parts led to the cre- ation of Antique Auto Sheet Metal, Inc. For the next two decades that company produced literally thousands of much needed replacement parts and body panels for both the collector car market and street rodders too.     1 PARTS, ARTICLES ON ORIGINALITY INTRODUCTION TO INDEX The following is a comprehensive index of the Model A Restores Club’s (MARC) Model “A” News; the Model A Ford Club of America’s (MAFCA) The Restorer; the Ford Model AA Truck Club’s (FMAATC) The Double A’er”; and the Model A Times. It includes articles and the how’s and why on the restoration, different ideas and thoughts, and original aspects of the Model A/AA Ford Cars and Trucks. I do not believe that this has ever been attempted and therefore I present this to you for your reference. Not all articles are included here. Articles of personal stories, Era Fashions, outings, club news, National and Regional Meets, etc., were omitted. If you happen to notice that I left something out that should be included in this index, or if there is a typing error, please be so kind as to inform me so I may update the index to benefit the rest. The format is designed after the Ford Parts Price List and Body Parts List which were produced by Ford throughout the Model A years of 1928 through 1931. It also includes a section on the different types of cars and trucks which were produced by Ford and where you will find them in the literature. Not all articles or pictures are listed.
