Kits include pre-cut, ready-to-install Dynamat Xtreme® damper pads and HeatShield Barrier Insulation panels which are packaged separately for easy installation. Kits come with uniquely illustrated installation sheets, spray adhesive and seam tape. Complete Acoustic Kits insulate the Cowl, Floor, Roof, Trunk Floor, Doors and Body Panels, which includes the seat divider, package tray and rear wheel wells. The installation of a complete AcoustiShield kit typically will reduce passenger cabin noise by 12 to 17 decibels. To put this in perspective, a 10-decibel reduction is a 50 percent reduction in noise that the human ear can easily detect. Barrier insulation will reduce radiant heat by as much as 25 degrees. AcoustiShield is a Two-Stage Process Stage-One of the AcoustiShield process is the application of small pre-cut Dynamat Xtreme® damper pads and strips to auto body sheet metal to greatly reduce the vibration and noise produced by these panels from entering the passenger cabin. Stage-Two of the AcoustiShield process is the application of pre-cut HeatShield Barrier Insulation panels to the auto body sheet metal to encapsulate any remaining vibration/noise and to thermally insulate the vehicle. Quiet Ride Solutions is the only source for the authentic “Chicken Track Texture” Found on Early Ford Cars Firewall Insulators Headliners and other interior panels 1928 through 1948 ABS Firewall Cover It was not until 1932 that Ford cars and Chicken Track Texture trucks were delivered drom the fac- tory with a firewall insulator and many restorers can attest to the fact that the Model A is one “hot” car to drive. Quiet Ride Solutions developed these fire- wall insulators to fit and look like OEM and then added HeatShield Thermal Acoustic Insulation to make them even better. Quiet Ride Solutions has faithfully repro- duced the famous “Chicken Track” tex- ture for the firewall insulator covers and related products. The “Chicken Track” texture was used exclusively on Ford in- terior products and truck headliners, cowl and door panels beginning in 1928 and through the 1948 model year. Each firewall product is molded to fit over the firewall engine setback and is ready- to-install with HeatShield Thermal Acous- tic Barrier insulation. The installation of the firewall uses fac- tory stock accessory holes, so there is no damage to the original firewall. A Hardware mounting pin kit and instruc- tion sheet provides everything needed for installation. Each Firewall insulator product is molded from an “out of the car” original firewall provided by one of our customers to ensure contour accuracy, mounting hole aligment and fitment. Not only for agreeing to be my mentor throughout my honors senior project, but for also suggesting valid points to make within my essay and final PowerPoint presentation that would better my research. I appreciate Professor Lillie for taking the time out of his schedule to meet with me during his office hours to discuss ideas and interesting facts that would be essential to crafting my essay. I would also like to recognize my cousin Neleze Meadows for helping me in narrowing down my broad topic to solely focusing on the evolution of Ford auto-motives. My cousin helped me chose an automobile company that has had the biggest transformation from beginning to end, and is continuously still growing in the 21st century. With the help of both my mentor Professor Lillie and my cousin Neleze Meadows, once again thank you for your input towards devising my Honors Mayor College senior project. ii TABLE OF CONTENTS Abstract..........................................................................................................................................

  • Introduction to R&C Database Compilation & Index
Introduction to R&C Database Compilation & Index I have a long history and fondness for Rod & Custom magazine. This is the first magazine I purchased at age 10, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I often refer back to my collection, but find it hard to quickly lay my hands on a given article. This is for fellow HAMB members who share a love for this little magazine. This Index covers Rod & Custom Magazine from May 1953 through May 1974. I stopped at 1974 since R&C went out of print then. R&C was restarted in December 1988 and lasted until October 2014. This index is created for general reference, technical reference, research, tracing automobile histories, and genealogy. I have attempted to use a consistent categorization or article grouping scheme across all 20+ years, even though editors or previous compilations may not have used this convention. This index contains the following specific information: Title of each article along with a descriptive supplement such as club affiliation, noted customizers, past owners, professions, etc. The author’s and/or photographer’s name where space allowed. Featured vehicle year, make, model, & engine and/or engine displacement where available or where space allowed. Vehicle owner name, city and state. Where the country is other than the United States, I listed the country Product manufacturer name, city and state. Address may be included if space allowed. The month and page number of each feature article or photograph. The index is sorted by year, and a title at the top of each page indicates which year.
