Indiana Historical Society Mule Car Number 69 and Indianapolis Transportation Project Page 1 HISTORICAL SKETCH

In 1996 the Indiana Transportation Museum received an Indiana Heritage Research Grant (IHRG 96–3001) for a project about Mule Car Number 69 and the history of Indianapolis public transportation. The Transportation Museum has preserved the mule car and this project served to compile the history of the car and show how it related to changes in public transportation in Indianapolis.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection contains the final report about Mule Car Number 69 and the history of Indianapolis public transportation, as well as twenty–five accompanying color slides. Included in the slides are reproductions of images taken by the W. H. Bass Photo Company.
