The last brew was undertaken on the site in December 2017 and during 2018 the site was decommissioned. Built 1864-65, a large red brick brewery complex ranged in two and three storeys along the sides of a deep and narrow rectangular yard. The four- storey block to the centre contains the brewhouse. The walls, in the characteristic brewery style of Burton, are articulated by shallow full height arcaded recesses containing the windows which are of the sash or pivot type. The ends of the ranges facing the road are treated as double gables with copings and kneelers. Oculi in the gables and blind giant arcading in a tripartite grouping similar in detail to the side elevations. At the north end of the yard on the first floor of the side ranges are galleried cast iron water tanks carried on cast iron columns. The eastern
